Hello,
How to set the margin of safety?
If there is chance of it.

The new route leg info is very useful, but it only comes up upon right-click along with the context menu. IMO this is rather unwieldy and it would be preferable to have leg info upon mouseover.

it is not really "real life" but using my virtual Com port and GPS simulator at home, GGA support seems to work fine.

Tested with a self-compiled version of build 524a.

CM93 Detail Slider

When changing the setting in the CM93 Detail window by the mouse wheel the new setting has no effect/ is not taken over. You have to click (left mouse button) on the desired value or move the slider by holding the left mouse button down.

This may irritate the user. So if it could be changed (easily) ...

Test 524 windows

Hi Dave
Loading CVS and built it without any problem

1) Route/Track start/end Ok saved in GPX file
Just one point : Invisible status for tracks is not saved . If ,in route manager ,you set invisible one or several tracks ,then exit and re-open opencpn , tracks become visible .

2) GGA sentence seams to work fine (see shot 524-1

3)I had very odd screens always with course up ,quilt mode and GPS activated . This happened in different situations : When starting , or zooming or when opening route manager ... after a few time , the screen becomes normal again (see shots 534-2 to shots 524-4

If the weather is cooperative , may be I'll continue my tests in live .
best regards
Jean pierre

Can't download current beta release is 2.1.0 Build 524a

On OpenCPN download page, it states that the current beta release is 2.1.0 524a, yet there is no link to download it, the only beta release that is available to download is build 520. Would like to do some practical testing at sea, just love this chartplotter and prefer to use it over my registered SOB

read up. not every CVS update is built into a .exe download.

but if I could "hint"... a compile released before the American holidy would be a wonderful testing timeframe.

: ) ?

test 524 windows

Hi dave

course up mode :
1)After re-buiding a second time , I can't reproduce the problem I described in my post #576

2) As far as the gps send a course different from the north , the chart rotates but
a) the program becomes very , very slow , it's quite impossible to drag , zoom etc ..
b) I don't understand why the boat is not oriented to the north (see shots attached)
(It's true that I am moored in the port and the boat is not moving)

best regards
Jean Pierre

2.1.0 524a
Eeebuntu 4.0 (EB 4.0)
EeePC 900a

Vector charts (NOAA ENC) are no longer detected. They worked fine on EB 3.0 with 2.1.0 518.

The list of Mariner's Standard Chart Display Filters is now empty.

The ENC charts are detected when doing a Force Full Database Rebuild.

I should have said that raster charts display OK but vector charts now do not display.

It was a nice surprise to find out how easy it is to build both debian and rpm packages with the new Cmake build system, using the cpack command. I have tested the deb, which worked just fine. I'm more curious about how the rpm package works on different rpm based distros.
I have added links to the packages on the Opencpn.org site
here.

I reinstalled 1.3.6 and was able to see the ENCs.
I've removed all traces of opencpn and am about to recompile 2.1.0 524a and repeat my steps. stay tuned
