Just a reminder.
I believe that this has been mensioned before. Windows XP sp3. Even in the latest beta, when hovering the curser over the chart bar CM 93, the chart update reads year 2000 allthough the real date should bee 2009 in my case.

Ops, sorry for posting in the wrong thread.
Now... I saw Marco has already done a great work with the ITA translation of 604, his work is way better than mine.
So... I'll be faster next time maybe

Ciao,
Alberto

Ciao Alberto, I've anyway some doubts about the best way to translate some terms. Give your suggestion that may be better than mine.

Buon vento.

Ciao, Marco.

Yes, it was in post #527.
Same with Win 7 (build 604). I believe this is a specific problem to CM93 charts as I recognized that on a BSB chart the correct data was shown/ displayed.

And as you all may know in the meantime, I am a great fan of usability and tidy GUIs . So I ask myself (and you, too), if this pop-up is needed all the time? Maybe it can be solved by another way to display the chart info, or at least I'll find it better if there could be a short delay (about .5 to 1 second) before the window pops up?

Short explaination: You often have to move the cursor on the task bar (on Windows - don't know about other OS) for several reasons. And it is (nearly) unavoidable to come across the chart bar. So it is a litte bit irritating when the chart info window pops up everytime.
But as always, this is just my personal impression/ preference (especially as I am only using a set of CM93 charts, where the chart info is of less interest). Alternatively I can activate the chart quilting (as it is now stable), so it is a point of low priority - but nevertheless "a nice to have" feature ... .

Addition:
I noticed that when quilting is activated/ enabled the "Enable CM93 Detail Slider" entry in the context menu is not present/ has gone, even though there are only CM93 charts available/ installed/ selected.

So with quilting on one have to go via TOOLBOX -> VECTOR CHARTS -> CM93 ZOOM DETAIL to change the setting.

Thanks,
Gunther

Jean Pierre...

Thanks for the accurate screen shot. Reproduced the bug, and fixed easily.

GPSD

I downloaded and compiled the latest gpsd 2.94 and tested with opencpn and xgps 2.92.( again pulling the USB plug)

OpenCPN responded correctly within a minute every time( = 3).
xgps froze with latest value displayed - no indication at all that the gps was lost.

None of the applications reacted when the gps was plugged in again. I had to kill and restart gpsd( sometimes more than once) to get xgps going. For opencpn it also required temporarily choosing /dev/ttyS0 (or similar) and then once again Network Libgps.
This seems to be (mainly ?) a gpsd problem.

So perhaps some positive development from 2.9.2 to 2.9.4.

I found a strange thing happen in the latest beta XP SP3. When switching between BSB and CM93 a couple of times, the system jumps out of quilting mode.

Michael,

I am also running 604 on XP SP3. However, I am unable to confirm the jumping out of quilting mode when doing multiple switches between BSB and CM93 charts.

Dave,

thanks for the fast bugfixes - that is really impressive!
Just 3 minor things before I'll go for deeper testing:
  1. The build number is still 604
  2. And am I right that the new (updated) po files from the CVS aren't included in the package, yet?
  3. Concerning
    Quote:
    167. Correct cm93 "Updated" value in chart info box.
. This might be correct , but I cannot confirm this, because no matter what CM93 chart I am on the info box always shows the data from the first chart in the directory.
Thanks,
Gunther

BTW: I can confirm what (I mean it was) JP reported, that OCPN now takes about 3-4 seconds (on my system of course) on exit, whereas before it ended immediately. This started with build 604 and I had also some crashes (with b604) on exit.

Gunther....

Sorry, bad upload.

Please try again. Help->Version should be RC606a

Latest .po files from today are embedded.

Close time depends largely on track file size. Are you closing with a large track file?

Thanks, and sorry for the mixup

Yes, all present.

You are right. Had some routes and tracks (about 8 altogether and not very large ones) loaded in the Route Manager. If this might lead to problems on closing OCPN (crash report) maybe there could be some kind of "autosave" function? AFAIS there only need to be a track saved on exit when tracking is/ was active before closing the program. All other routes and tracks could be saved before. But as I have no knowledge about how things are realized, it is just a thought from a non-programmer.

Thanks again,
Gunther

PS: It is still only the first chart file from the CM93 chart directories shown - but now the update date is correct.

Dave,

I am having problems with 606a. When I use the old .ini file it runs very slowly and hangs for long periods of time. If I delete the .ini file it won't create a new one and it crashes. The following screen shots are a little thin on info so I don't how much help they will be:
