I updated Compiling - Linux | Official OpenCPN Homepage a few hours ago to reflect this for Ubuntu & Fedora required programs. Probably related to 122. Rework CMake script for Grib PlugIn to use system BZip2 libraries on linux.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 523

A crash occurs at nmea.cpp:731 if OpenCPN is shutdown with a GPS connected and then restarted with the GPS disconnected and then the toolbox is clicked.

A crash also occurs at nmea.cpp:670 If OpenCPN is shutdown with a GPS connected and then restarted with the GPS disconnected and then shutdown again.

Can't replicate either

(Vista, 523, using Xport to create a virtual COM port, disconnecting GPS and deleting Xport process before restarting)

I can do this, as Chuck describes in the first per "toolbox clicked"..a crash, that is.
XPsp1 this is "brand-new overlay" install
I'll try the second instance

and the second as well "restarted with the GPS disconnected and then shutdown again"

Also,previously tested
Netsurfer's scenario "It was "initial" start crash. The program started quite normal. It crashed when I tried to open the ToolBox close it"
but no crash.

I can get the same crash with XPORT,too if I disable it's virtual port output and where OpenCPN expects the gps to be at that port....

apparently, the only way to recover OpenCPN (without editing the system ini? file)is to reconnect everything as it was and then the toolbox is accessible.

You're right, I get a crash if I disable the Xport COM Port expected by OpenCpn. I first get this error message 'Unable to open serial port ...'

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 523

something not very important:
when I dimm with the F6 button it is not easy to find back the brightest position.
if I press the F6 one time to often I'm over the brightest position and I have to make the tour again. so I actually had to make about 3 tours to find the brightest point again.
Or is there a shortcut that I dont know?
otherwise a bar would be okay which indicates if I'm back at the brightest position.

There is a task on the tracker (FS#427) where things can be discussed. Would be happy if you would add your proposal there, too!

I have only 4 plugin.
Copy that.
Windows 7 Ultimate 32Bit

The same plugins are missing or vice versa the same 4 are present.
So it affects the
  • Logbook
  • WMM
  • Google Earth
plugins. I used all of them successfully with 2.4.506.

So I just had a look at the log and there it shows the reason:
Quote:
10:16:24 PM: PlugInManager: Unloading PlugIn with invalid API version 1.4: D:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins/wmm_pi.dll
Same for the other two plugins.
So their API value needs to be updated (I guess).

You can use also shift F6 for back choice. But now, it is necessary to count ...

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.4 Beta Build 523

Hello,

ASUS XP SP3, 1001HA. 240-523

Change log: 89. "Implement fine-scale vector chart zoom in / out by CTRL + and CTRL-"

But on my machine, it does not work. On my keyboard, I have a "Fn" key. I have to replace
- "CTRL -" by "Fn -"
- "CTRL +" by "Fn +"
