Re: OpenCPN Version 2.5 Release

tore....

Hmmm.... Just checked, works for me on XP

Did these icons work prior to version 2.5?

The icons should be in {logfile location}/UserIcons/

Check the spelling of UserIcons carefully. Windows is fussy about this.

Also check that the .xpm files did not get converted to some other extension by windows copy process. (e.g. .doc)

Great work folks. All of your hard word moving toward 2.5 is deeply appreciated.

If you continue to zoom in, OpenCPN will change to a larger scale chart, and the over-zoom will go. I'm not sure if this has changed. It is noticeable in some areas with a big jump between small scale charts and next larger scale chart.
I could also be a question of processing and cache-ing the info.
I could, for example, recreate your problem looking at the Eastern Caribbean in small scale, but after closing down and trying again, I was unable to repeat it.

Dave..

My addittional .xpm files are located in the main OCPN directory in the UserIcons subdirectory. Cruisers Forum does not allow any of the files to be uploaded so I will send them by separate email to you.

Yes they all worked before.

Tore,
you have to move them to {logfile location}/UserIcons/ as Dave said, the location changed a couple of betas back.

Sorry for the false alarm. I just retried F6; it works fine. I must have pressed F5 to cause the "problem". I get the same results when I do

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.5 Release

Pavel..

Ah,they have changed location! That explains it.
One problem, where do I find {logfile location}/UserIcons?
Doing a search on UserIcons only shows those in the main OCPN directory?

Thanks

Tore

Tore,

click the help button and you should see the logfile location for your operating system. Within this directory, you will have to create the "UserIcons" directory, and put your icons there.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.5 Release

Thanks all...

I seem to have missed the info down the line that the icons position had changed.

Have now created a new UserIcons directory in C:/opencpn/UserIcons/ and all is working fine.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.5 Release

Three things under Ubuntu 10.10 (freshly installed on Panasonic Toughbook CF-18B):

1. toolbar does not want to stay put (docked) but jumps to center of the screen after configuration dialog is closed. Native screen resolution 1024x768, window maximised but not in fullscreen mode, transparent toolbar disabled. Most apparent after OpenCPN is freshly started. Opening dashboard with taskbar centered will move taskbar to its location.

When run from console the message is:
Code:
Gdk-CRITICAL **: IA__gdk_window_get_origin: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed
2. option 'play ships bells' aborts OpenCPN at an attempt to play sound. When run from console, the message is:
Code:
opencpn: relocation error: opencpn: symbol _ZN7wxSound6CreateERK8wxStringb, version WXU_2.8 not defined in file libwx_gtk2u_adv-2.8.so.0 with link time reference
In Ubuntu 10.10 the OSS emulation layer had been removed, so there is no /dev/dsp. Maybe this is the cause? For sure this broke many multimedia apps.

3. F6 does not do anything (and xcalib is installed). No messages in log or console.

I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04 and I recognize your No 1.
I don't think that the first gdk message means much, but I cold be wrong!

No 2 see this post http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f134/problem-with-anchor-alarm-in-ubuntu-11-04-a-65068.html#post741209
Bottom line, start OpenCPN like this:
Code:
$padsp opencpn
and you will get an OSS wrapper that make all sounds related features work.

No 3 F6 works fine for me.Close down and rename opencpn.config. On start a new will be created. Try F6 again.
