The boat in th version 1310 is almost invisible, so how do you resize the boat?

First off, thanks for adding the scaling feature to ownship.
Can you do it for own marks as well?

Find the Ownship ok... except for the white hole where it indicates GPS pos.
A small dot or a tiny cross would do.

Would it be possible to add a tab to the toolbox? "Own Ship settings" or something like that, this containing e.g:
OwnshipLengthMeters=nn
OwnshipBeamMeters=mm
OwnshipGPSOffsetY=yy
OwnshipGPSOffsetX=xx
OwnshipMinMM=kk

Just a tought... It would make it easier to adjust to the users liking... And it would be easier for those who dont know their way around ini files

Anyone else with the same problem? It worked with the previous beta...

Thanks for the comments.

We do not plan to scale marks and AtoNs. Try SCAMIN to reduce chart clutter.

We do not plan Toolbox access to Ownship parameters. These parameters are of interest to a small percentage of users, all of whom are presumed literate in ECS. Further, these parameters are typically "set once and forget".

I did find a logic quirk regarding ownship.xpm. You must not have any entry for
OwnshipBeamMeters=mm
in order to activate the ownship.xpm icon. Sorry for the confusion.

Perhaps Rule 4 above should read:

"4. If ownship.xpm icon is found and used, Rule 2 applies. It is assumed that the ownship icon closely fits
the bounding box of the graphic in the length dimension. OwnshipBeamMeters must be omitted or zero."

I had sort of tthe same problem, using the Portable mode but it'sworking now with the un-needed values blank,even though they do need exist?...re:

An ownship at that length will be likely be much smaller than the default redboat
anways,it's good fun.I think I will run two versions to use this,because I have no wheel house where I could peer so close at the screen..

the "OwnshipMinMM=" is useful to avoid ownships getting too tiny!...and I "#" out the 3 unused values,OwnshipBeamMeters=,OwnshipGPSOffsetY=,Ownsh ipGPSOffsetX= so maybe their presence isn't needed at all but might as well have em handy...

Win 7 64bit, 6gb, quad core AMD

Very first run since D/L. Zoomed in/out, repositioned over own boat, zoomed in twice. Crashed. Windows message that program had stopped working.

Only charts loaded are cm93

Opened and tried again. Same result. Last chart showed accessed in the log was a different chart.

Third time, zoomed in to a different location. Zoomed only twice, then crash.

I did not download 1227, but here it is with 1125. Same results.

I started to try fresh install with new setting, or delete ini, etc, but I think I'll wait and do things in what ever order you need me to.

OK.

First, SAVE your current .ini file somewhere safe, like a thumbdrive.

Then, uninstall OpenCPN completely.
Next, install 2.6.1310, load charts, etc.. This will give you a new, presumably clean .ini file.

See if it crashes. If not, replace the current .ini file with your saved file. Try to run OCPN again. If it crashes, then we just have to look at the two .ini files for relevant differences.

If 2.6.1310 crashes after an un-install and clean load, then there is something up with your (immensely powerful) system or charts.

In that case I would try to systematically reduce the variables, going back to 2.5.0 and building from there.

I had the same crash when zooming with the boat visible
I cancelled the ownship lat/lon in the .ini file and can't reproduce anymore

My ownship was visible.

So:
## OwnShipLatLon=" 32.7805, -79.9550"

Own ship not showing. Still crashes for me. 3 zooms and you're out.

Good Day everyone. It seems to me that the crashing is due to the changing from one chart to another with ENC. I tried it with only CM93 and add no crash at all with a completely new installation. I did the same with the raster and no crash.
As far as the ship is concern, it is excellent with the new installation.
Except that I would have prefer using an interface that should be done in the future, but it is quite good to see that it can be done.
