W7 as well - In my case it helps to check "Declutter text" text in the tool box' vector chart tab to get a nicer picture

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705

All is working well in Windows 7 aftr reinstalling 2.6.1705, except for the current arrows of the charts in S57 format; they all point towards North but if you kick on it you can obtain the direction but no speed of the currents.
Good work and thanks again.

So far my locally compiled 32 bits runs OK. Not really tested though.

Exactly the same crash after booting this afternoon on my 64 bits version. So it was not just the upgrade....

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705

Hi,

I've already posted this message to the "ocpn does not go out of night mode" thread, but this one maybe is more appropriate.

First issue:
========
I found in new OpenCPN 2.6.1705 that with CM93 map, F5 doesn't works correctly (only [dim/change colors] the Toolbar + GPS icon + bottom chart / location bar).

I have checked the same with OpenCPN 2.5.0 with the same CM93 map and it's works correctly!

Second issue:
===========
If you try to dim with F6 with new OpenCPN 2.6.1705 and also with 2.5.0 it's works correctly until you minimized OpenCPN window and back maximized, if you try to dim again after min/max you will see only small dark square like I've attached.

If you dim to some value and after that min/max OpenCPN window you will also see the same behavior.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705

Hello and Thank you Dave:

All of screens on Opencpn appear ok.

GPSD works fine with xgps (the position is displayed and accurate). However the data isn't being displayed in OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705. I have the gps section in the configuration set to GPSD on localhost (same as in Ubuntu 11.10, whiched worked fine). Neither the Dashboard nor the Autofollow vessel indicator are receiving NMEA data (at 4800).

The output in the opencpn logfile today is below:

Do your screens look right?

You say gpsd does not work.....

Lets start by looking at your opencpn logfile please.
Also, please tell us more about your test setup.

Thanks

I can duplicate kubek's F6 problem with openGL OFF but it works fine with Gl on... (OS=XP running 1705 portably)

Hi,

If I turn ON OpenGL in Toolbox both problems disappear.

Hello Dave,

Really like the feature that makes it possible to add links to a mark.
It would be even better if the link was directly accessible from the drop down meny when right clicking on the mark, or if the link came up directly when double clicking on the mark.

I think this is a bug:

With an active route, when switching to other applications, the little route/leg window stays on top of the other applications. Win-XP

Hello

Some problems on Mac OSX (10.6.8) :
- all symbols are shown in a little black square on all vectorial map (CM93, S57 NOAA).
- the night and day function doesn't work anymore. In fact, there is just change in the tool bar and in the bottom of the screen.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705

Regarding the TSS arrows pointing north: I must have missed some arrows that should have vector format instead of raster. Will look through again and fix.

If you want to fix it yourself, check the symbol name in Object Query and add <prefer-bitmap>no</prefer-bitmap> to that symbol in chartsymbols.xml

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1705

Thomas....

Crash on 64bits:

As I understand it, you can reliably crash on 64 bits with one specific config file, which you have previously attached.

I tried that config file locally on 32 bits, no problems.

If you can reliably crash, then the thing to do is systematically remove questionable items from the config file, one, by one, until you find the one item that causes the crash.

You ddd dump is not conclusive, I'm afraid.

Thanks
Dave
