Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.2 Released

sbfreddie:
Why is SIP disabled at your machine?

Nohal:
Regarding his crash log: Where comes "libarchive.16.dylib" from?
I found it only in the original OpenCPN 4.8.2 package. It is not part of macOS. Why not use the decompression coming with the OS?

My own OpenCPN version does not have such problems.

Does your own OpenCPN version work on Lion?

What is "decompression coming with macOS" exactly?

sbfreddie is using Sierra and not Lion.
Even Lion has had already the possibility to decompress zip files.

Where is that "libarchive.16.dylib" from?

Yes, I know. And OpenCPN supports everything from Lion onwards.
Does your OpenCPN version run on Lion?

We are not talking about ZIP files here, GSHHG basecharts are compressed using XZ. Is it supported on Lion by the "decompression coming with macOS"? And, again, what is "decompression coming with macOS" exactly?

Read the macOS build instructions at http://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/dok...piling_mac_osx

Obviously it is better to use the OS instead of weak thirdparty tools.

Even wxWidgets has been part of the OS many, many years ago but abandoned when found too buggy.

Lion is 7 years old and outdated.

Can you please get back to the point?
Maybe start by telling us what "decompression coming with macOS" is exactly.

It seems you do not like to understand.
Not I have a problem with your OpenCPN version for macOS but there is a user with the crashing original version of OpenCPN. My hint to fix such crashs is not to use weak thirdparty tools which are not needed for macOS.
So e.g. macOS has already curl, sqlite and many other things. No need to invent the wheel again.

Gerhard...
I understand you very well, you again got lost and totally off topic, please try to get back to our problem of libarchive crashing at the end of decompression of a tar.xz archive and tell us exactly what your suggestion is to do about it. So far I have seen none.

Thank you

I don't need and don't use libarchive. Perhaps you have not read my comments above. If you have a better solution you should tell it to the user.

Show us your better solution, please. This blah blah leads nowhere as usually.

I'm very sorry you are not able to read.
"blah, blah" reads as: Don't use libarchive.

Re: OpenCPN Version 4.8.2 Released

There is a problem in the route & mark manager.

Edit a track's properties

Click a track-point and split the track

The track splits two points down instead of above or below the track-point selected.

OS : Windows 10

We are still eagerly waiting to see https://github.com/CarCode/Cocoa-OCPN enlighten us with your better solution.
