It's basically there now via signalK

Another option for N2K is the Twocan plug-in:

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.529 Beta Test

I found a "glitch" in the layers-functionality (of which I produce several for my project).
The "glitch" exists since version 5.0 since it is possible to switch WPT-names "on" or "off" on a per layer basis.
When first installing new layers in OpenCPN you have to specifically first "uncheck" and then "check" the checkbox beside a layer to get the "WPT-names" visible.
The checkbox is not initially "checked" (or unchecked), but "sort of semi-checked with a square" (at least in Windows) as if there are some WPT's set and others are not.
It would be nice to have the checkboxes initially set or unset (preferably set) to make thing clearer for first-time end-users.

I works very well with the SignalK/canboat options. You only need to have canbus adapter. Can be an Actisense NGT-1 or this small Canable board.

In the latest version of OpenCPN SignalK input can direct be used by OpenCPN.

Export of route settings from OpenCPN to SignalK is also possible.

SignalK can be tranferred to NMEA2000 for use on NMEA2000 instruments.

Instead of double-clicking the .pkg right-click and select then "open".

You will be asked to confirm that you want to install a pgk from an unknown source "cloudsmith.io"

There is still the small matter of every possible signalk message being copied to stdout. That means that if you start opencpn from a terminal you could either read every message.

Or more probable:
You will just get to live with the cost (in cputime) of some needless logging to stdout.

I don't know why the logging option leamas worked so hard for is still not implemented in the beta.

Moo...
Back to the flashing, etc...

Could you please disable or remove all plugins, and give that a try?
Thanks
Dave

First of all, all plugins disabled, and then all uninstalled. No difference! Restarted after removing each plugin.
