This becomes an issue at night. Even in night mode, that window is glaringly white to the point of being slightly annoying.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

OpenCpn 5.1.612 has a little problem for updating charts database. When you want to update one group of charts it automatiquely start to ubdate the entire
database and it takes times. So it was not like that in the older version. Could you please come back to a more reasonable way.
Thanks for this great new version.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

Here we go, we are back with blurred charts (raster kap file) when zooming and moving left or right at reasonable speed, no matter OpenGL on or not. This in the version 5.1.612. It does not with vector charts. I had not seen it for sometimes. My video card is up to date, so it has nothing to do with my computer.
So long.

Jean..
Only ENCs are sensible for the night color mode. Not any rasters since they are "pictures" and color schemes can't (of course) be changed. For rasters you can dim the whole screen with F6. (Win only?)

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

Hi Dave,

I have tested version 5.1.612 for the behaviour described in this post and I'm happy to report it's gone:

https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3141888

Whilst testing it I did see the behaviour described by Jon Hacking, ie:

"Clicking mbTiles on/off with the piano keys leaves the X on the left edge always visible on Win10. The X used to appear only when that mbTile was NOT selected. The piano key changes color, but that's now the only way to tell which mbTiles are active."

I'm using Windows 10 Professional, all latest updates applied, system not yet ready to update to feature release version 2004.

Thanks for all the work, it's looking really good now.

After another try it seems to be working with MBTiles as well but they stay brighter (than CM93 for instance) so not a bug.

I can confirm this. Updating a few charts kept O busy and useless for more than an hour. Don't do this at sea. I opened issue #1952 for this.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

When starting OpenCPN with an O-chart it does not scale back to the chart scale that was used when OpenCPN was closed previous run. Other charts function OK. When you however switch to an other chart (CM93 in my case) it scales to the previous scale. Switching back to the O-charts chart again will display the right scale (from previous session).

This could be a problem of the oeSenc plugin or O itself. It is fully reproducable on different Windows 10 machines. Not tested on Linux.

I have tested this on Ubuntu20.04.
Normally I would not even have noticed this as I'm not bothered about the exact scale when starting a session.
Anyway.

Raster and CM93 keeps the scale from last session when starting,
but it always initially shows 1:400,000 in the MUI bar. This seems to be a missing update as the correct scale shows as soon as you try to zoom in/out.

oeSENC, does not keep the scale, but seems to generally show a scale of 1:105,000 in the MUI bar. A funny thing is that the MUI bar temporarily shows 1:400,000 for a second,or so, before changing to 1:105,000.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.612 Beta Test

Similar game with macOS.
Left panel oeSENC, right panel oeSENC and raster (.kap) with raster active.
Closed with 1:70.000 and 1:250.000, coming back reporting 1:400.000 on both. What is not correct in neither case.
