Dave: COG in the status bar jumps from a realistic number to this every few seconds:

I have my windinstrument down for maintenance, give me a day or two to report back on that..
I can report back that "number of sats used" now matches the GPS selected in O.

Looks one of those "magic" numbers. 2147483648 = 0x80000000 which is equivalent to 0x7FFFFFFF + 1, Quite possibly a NMEA 2000 data validation issue where COG is "data unavailable" and is also mistakenly assigned as a signed int?

My windinstrument is back up and True wind angles match apparent (at anchor) (with latest on github).

Wind history still gets wiped every so often, maybe there is a pattern: The text "xxx knts since hh:mm" showed for the last three wipes:
21:41 22:00 22:19 22:37

so every ~19 minutes ?!?

LoL:

"Dave: COG in the status bar jumps from a realistic number to this every few seconds:"

I would like to see a (short) candump that captures this error, if possible.
Thanks
Dave

I see the similar pattern of my Rpi's although no N2k wind data. My Win's are stable though...
Bug hunting...

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #1

Planning on testing the N2K capabilities shortly, does anyone know if the Maretron NMEA2K to USB bridge will actually work in direct N2K or only by using the 0183 translator?

With their proprietary software it talks N2K natively, have been using it with the prior OpenCPN for some time in 0183 translation mode.

If it does not work, is there a preference for the Actisense or the Yacht XXX version.

If I need to get one of the above ordered I will do it shortly so I can help with the testing.

Thanks

Is there a S63 plugin available that works in this beta yet? Can't find it in the master or beta lists in the plugin manager.

Never tried this but if it acts like a Acticense or YD it would work.

If you have it available I suggest you try it. And pls report the result.

I'm using YDNU-02. Works fine. Acticense NGT-1-USB will also be fine.

One personal note about Maretron USB100 gateway: Reading the manual there are no PGNs for AIS messages listed. If I'm correct no N2k transfer of a possible N2k-bus connected AIS device will be shown via the USB gateway.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #1

I tried the git master c28000f97

15:09:46.526 MESSAGE ocpn_app.cpp:1249 wxWidgets version: wxWidgets 3.0.5 Linux 64 bit wxGTK
15:09:46.528 MESSAGE ocpn_app.cpp:1254 OS Version reports as: 5.15
15:09:46.528 MESSAGE ocpn_app.cpp:1256 MemoryStatus: mem_total: 32052 mb, mem_initial: 368 mb
15:09:46.528 MESSAGE ocpn_app.cpp:1268 OCPN_OSDetail: x86_64 ; Ubuntu ; 22.04 ; ubuntu ; debian

Seems to work fine, also with radar_pi, compiled with wxWidgets 3.0.5.

I found one problem, "move boat here" moves the boat icon to a different position than the mouse click. SetPositionFixEx() is not called without position source connected, it was in 5.6.2 (not in earlier versions).

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #1

There was one issue (outside O) when starting opencpn: error while loading shared libraries: libOpenCL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
This was solved with: sudo apt --reinstall install ocl-icd-libopencl1

Douwe...

libOpenCL.so.:
Strange. We do not use OpenCL directly in OCPN.
Perhaps an incidental requirement of your OpenGL driver stack.
