Moo...
"Is there a S63 plugin available that works in this beta yet?"

Not yet. Coming soon.
Thanks

This problem did not occur with 5.6.2, compiled in the same environment, so some display related calls may be different in 5.7. But the problem is solved as mentioned above.

"I found one problem, "move boat here" moves the boat icon to a different position than the mouse click. SetPositionFixEx() is not called without position source connected, it was in 5.6.2 (not in earlier versions)."

1. Move boat here: Are you using a scaled display? Seems to work fine for me at 100% scale.

2. SetPositionFixEx() is called every one second tick, without regard to comm status. Lat/Lon are passed as current boat icon position. All other values are NaN.

Please verify.
Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #1

Windows 11, Dell 7220 Planning only. Boat's on the hard.

(1) Normal routes work at least as well. GRIB, polars and weather routing work, with same, known, quirk, I expect based on my location: US Great Lakes require disabling Detect Land -- it might be 50 to 300 nautical miles away, but it's all around.

(2) But here's a question -- I'm trying polars for a downsized boat, not in the database and I have old US Sailing IMS polars from which to copy data:

Are the OpenCPN polars for True Wind or Apparent Wind? Looked in manual and couldn't find it.

The objective of these Beta tests is two-fold:
1. Verify existing functions perform as expected, searching for what we call "regression errors".
2. Test new functionality with all possible hardware configurations, even some that might be non-sense in real life.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #1

They are all presumed to be True Wind. Since the "parentage" of a lot of them is unknown that presumption may not always be accurate.

I can tell you that they are all formatted to the same standard and for the most part they all appear to be reasonably internally consistent. Whether any of them actually represent any specific boat is another question.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #1

Highlighting of tracking icon sometimes shows wrong state:
the mouse-over text is always correct, but sometimes the icon itself is highlighted (=tracking) when it isn't and the icon stays that way when mouse is moved somewhere else.

First screenshot shows the wrong state: icon show tracking=on, but icon-action-text says "enable tracking". second screenshot shows correct state with text.

This only seems to happen, sometimes, when clicking the tracking on/off icon. I have never seen that with other icons in that toolbar.

This is not something new for 5.8. I think that this exists since MUI toolbars.

Move boat here works fine at 100% display scaling. The error was found with 150% scaling. After setting it to 100% a O restart was needed to get it right again.

SetPositionFixEx() is indeed called, sorry, error on my side.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #1

Hi, I'm probably doing something wrong on my attempt to install the beta on a Raspberry Pi 4. Here is what I get:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ flatpak install --user https://flathub.org/beta-repo/appstr...CPN.flatpakref
error: Can't load uri https://flathub.org/beta-repo/appstr...CPN.flatpakref: Server returned status 404: Not Found

Thank you.

Waypoints not accepted by SasPlanet

Any waypoint created by this version does not import to SasPlanet with the following error.

Looking in the code I agree the GPX node version is printed at the root and at the end of each exported files for routes, tracks and WP.
But are you sure it's new in this beta? I can't see any changes to that. (A lot complicated code changes so I may be wrong)
Could it be SasPlanet has made a change as well?

Never mind.
If all agree the gpx-files don't need the "<gpx version="1.1" creator="OpenCPN"....." also at the end of the file but only at the top root it would be a easy fix

Thanks for the quick response.

Yes this only happens with the beta version.

Seriously doubt that SasPlanet has made a change as the stable versions don't have the problem.

Yes, there have been code changes "over my (poor?)head" probably affecting this. Trying to investigate.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #1

I figured out the installation method for my Raspberry Pi 4 install. I downloaded the file: org.opencpn.OpenCPN.flatpakref. I then ran the command: flatpak install --user /home/pi/Downloads/org.opencpn.OpenCPN.flatpakref in a linux shell, followed by the command: flatpak run org.opencpn.OpenCPN//beta.

Double clicking on: org.opencpn.OpenCPN.flatpakref did not work for me.

Hmmm?
The 5.6.2 is present at https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/r....6.2_setup.exe (the link on the download page of opencpn.org)

and the latest beta one is getting from
https://cloudsmith.io/~david-registe...able/packages/
(Windows --> ....._setup.exe)
