Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #2

I loaded 5.7.1 and it ran fine with one exception. I have a number of charts that require the BSB4 version 1.4 plugin, and it seems to have disappeared in this latest version. With it missing, some of the charts that I have purchased in the past will not open, those with the .CAP extension instead of the .KAP extension.

1. Stroke thickness is large for the Inactive map in the Chart Bar
2. the menu does not include long lines
3. fonts need to be adapted for HDPI displays with the Scalled Graph interface enabled, for all tooltips, texts on the map, names for waypoints, AIS targets

"There seems to be big memory leak in this version. I run it for about 5 days and it grew to 8GB.
top command was showing most of memory taken by OpenCPN."

Could not reproduce. Will you tell us more information about your configuration?

Thanks

What do you use for memory leak detection?
I might just run same here and give you a report.

Thanks

Hi everyone

Please, the Ship Position on the Status Bar is not appearing, usually this position appears before the SOG and COG.

Can anyone help?

Thank you

I use valgrind/memcheck.

He reports some leakage on app exit, just a few items not completely deleted by OCPN shutdown methods. But I see no source of growing allocation in the report, after a 15 hour run.

I welcome your test of the same.
Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #2

Hi there...
Several users have reported crashes when exiting the app on Rpi/64 using canBus native adapters.
If this is happening to you, we need more information, please. What adapter? What OS? CANbus adapter plugged into live N2K bus, or hanging free?
Any other information would be useful.

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #2

Just trying to start testing this on MacOS Ventura Intel and get crash when attempting to launch.
Have reinstalled but no better. Looks like required libraries missing. Not sure why just I am getting this.
