OpenCPN Version 5.7.1 Beta Test #3

I tried again and even opening in safe mode it crash instantly. Windows 10 pro, with 16 gig of ram up to date. So going back to previous edition.

Since no-on else has reported crashing on Windows installation of Beta#3, it is likely some obscure part of your config. Standard debug techniques apply.


1. Rename and save config file.
2. Delete config file.
3. Start from scratch, slowly building your config back to present time.

4. Identify the element that causes the crash.

On macOS missing numbers at the UI sliders at Options|Userinterface


Same happens with the Zoom/detail sliders at Options|Display|advanced



Not new, is there since quite some time.

W11, system with HiDPI,

- The tab at Options should show "User Interface", but only "User" shows up

- Numbers of UI sliders partly clipped.

tested on both macOS Ventura and W11. On W11 first without updating the plug-in --> wrong presentation, then updating the PI.

I also have a CPN crash when zooming on an ENC S-57 and on some large scales it crashes on startup

I agree with BCN. Here is the old version (left) and the new one (right). In the short story, the underline is well placed under the first digit.

If OpenCPN is open, and if I click on the desktop shortcut to launch OpenCPN again, then I get a message that I have never seen. See screenshot.

Is this message necessary? If so, it would suffice to say that OpenCPN is already open.

Two display problem
1) some objects soundings sizing is manage by "chart objects scale factor"
not by" ENC soundings factor" (Obstructions always underwater) (screenshot(

2) Extended tide icon size is managed by "chart objects scale factor". But If I set the charts objects (buoys) at a reasonable size, the tide icon is too small (screenshot)
