Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Paul..
On Win10

You're correct, it's actually not working here either. There's a check box in Tools->User Interface but there's no action when unchecked. That's probably why the Ctrl-I you refer to is not working if that was an opportunity before. I didn't know.
Would probably fit in each Canvas menu bar.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

I have created a new test version of GE2KAP that has a new plugin for OpenCPN V4.99 +. If you want to try it here is the link:
http://gdayii.ca/Downloads/Test_GE2KAP.V34.0.0.8.exe

BTW: do you REALLY think the new MBtiles feature is better than GE2KAP?

Here are the steps for MBTiles:
- Position SasPlanet to area that want to create a chart
- Invoke the Selection manager and select the zooms to download
- Download the SasPlanet tiles
- Re-invoke the Selection manager, select Export as Mbtiles
- Press Start

Here are the steps for GE2KAP:
- Position SasPlanet to area that want to create a chart
- Press Create Chart

Re: Waypoint Extended Properties

I think this can be useful for watchdog_pi and perhaps Ocpn_Draw?

The box is not useful for anything but knowing the GUID. Knowing the GUID is good to be able to find a specific object in OpenCPN's GPX data when processed in a text editor.
Doing stuff with OpenCPN's GPX data in a text editor is something you normally don't do. But when you do, you are most happy that you know the GUID of a certain object.

Transparent PNG support in MBTiles
SASPlanet exports in PNG format with transparency
Support for transparent PNGs will add the ability to create free-form coverage, rather than rectangular areas, which will reduce the amount of mbtiles files.

Template selection

Not a bug but a suggestion. Place a selection to templates you have created as a link in the right-click panel.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Looking at
Options-Ships-Routes/Points- Show waypoints only at chartscale >1: ........

I expected this to be a setting that overrides individual wpt settings, but I can't find that the setting does anything at all!

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Thomas..
If set to for example 1:300000 all new WPs will get that extended status. Check the option and create a new WP. Zoom out to a scale < 1:300000 and the WP will be hidden. Unfortunately it has no effect on existing WPs. For that you've have to edit every WP or the navobj.xml or a layer .gps file.

Thank you Håkan

A bit confusing with a global "Override the settings......" options among default creating options.
The "Override......." option should probably be moved down to the "Control options".

Agree. I had to update over 4,000 waypoints to change the scale and also to remove the rings. Two days of screen time.
