Well, I don't like it simply because it adds unwanted steps when you only want to change to the other panel.

I copy Thomas view but I've also tested from an empty connection to add a new and it works fine on my Win10s

All..
Although native Windows I do like the black Linux right click pop up menu. Pavel if you can learn Windows that trick I wouldn't mind.

Gilletarom...

In github, building now, I have made a modification to the UI on Connections->Add Connection. When the user selects "Add Connection", the settings window automatically scrolls down to allow the user to see the required entry parameters. On "Apply", the window scroll position returns to the top.

I hope this makes the use more clear to new users.

Thanks
Dave

Dave..
The new Add connection functions works fine. Very handy indeed.
One "but" though:
If I select one existing connection for edit or just for nothing the "Add new...." is grayed out and there is no good way to un-select and make the Add.. button active again. Well, I can remove one connection or edit one and apply to get an active Add... but this is quit a long shot?
You must quit options and come back again and be sure to not touch any existing connection before using the Add...

Dave, I like the idea too.

BUT, I add the following remark:
With a new installation, a user wants to start by creating two connections. He clicks on "Add" and creates the first connection.

At this point, he is obliged to validate by "Ok" or "Apply" so that the connection is created. Suppose it validates with "Apply"
Then he wants to create a second connection. BUT, the "Add" button is grayed out. See screen copy). It must therefore go out by "ok" and come back ..

That's not what I expect. As soon as a user wants to create a connection, the "Add" button must be usable.

Finally, the only time the "Add" button should be grayed out is :
- when the user has used this button and must validate the creation of a connection (or cancel the creation of a connection whose creation has begun),
- or when an already existing connection has been selected for deletion or modification.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Apologies for the dumb question...
I downloaded and installed 4.99 about 2 weeks ago.
The wonderful creators and builders have been very busy swatting bugs and making improvements since then. Thank you so much for your efforts!!!
Where do I download the latest version from, to obtain these updates?

Thank you for your helpful reply.
I had actually just found that link. It appears to contain 3 files to download. Is it necessary to download all 3, or just the setup file?

Just the setup.exe file is needed.

Not so obvious, but to "un-select" a connection, left click on it again. It is a toggle...

Gilletarom...

See above comment. The only mode that allows "Add Connection" is if no connections are currently selected. Otherwise, you are in "Edit connection" mode.

Left click on any selection to de-select it, and allow adding a new connection.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Ok, so I downloaded the file (which I think said it was 2 hours old).
Tried to install it on Windows 10 laptop.
Message received that it is an older version than the one I already have installed, and would I like to downgrade my installation.
Version currently running is 4.99.1408+0395280
Newly downloaded version is 4.99.1408+c57f373
