Re: OS Raspberry specific RPI

Hi M,

just tried your latest stable version.

Works well, although but still missing a button in the right upper corner to switch the system off.

Most of the time I use the several Flatpak versions, like OpenCPN.

It works when started for the terminal, but no icon is generated.

And an error shows up as: canberra-gtk-module missing.

Regards,

Bram

You are looking for power off button in wrong place. See getting started guide. Its ‘commands’ icon on your desktop.

Why are you installing flatpak? OpenCPN is already included. It’s also patched for issues which were not yet included OpenCPN Debian release, but were verified.

By installing flatpak you already compromising stability of tested system

Re: OS Raspberry specific RPI

Hi M,

tried to shutdown via the Commands. Does not work with my wireless Logitech keyboard.

I use poweroff in the LXTerminal.

I'am always using the latest software for testing and Flatpak is the future for Linux applications. One version fits all the Linux releases. I also use more Flatpak applications. Like LibreOfice, VLC, Evolution, Chromium etc. etc.

With Flatpak I have all the OpenCPN plugins available. Not only on the RPI, but also on my Linux Mint AMD64 system.

In raspi-config there is a setting Wayland add on. Gives also a performence boost.

Re: OS Raspberry specific RPI

For your information. I just tested the Flatpak version with the O-charts plugin. This also works. Here with Charts set NL UK BE.

All in the Lysmarine. Only no icon for the flatpak apps.

Re: OS Raspberry specific RPI

Would OpenCPN 5.7.1 users using RPI please test the Testplugin FE2 frontend plugin (by Jon Gough) and any of weatherfax, weather_routing, plots, polar, celestial_navagation, climatology, etc. and advise here if they work.
These plugins will hopefully be found in the PIM Plugin Manager master catalog and the beta catalog.

If it works and loads, tell us.
If it fails tell us how it failed. If you don't see these available, let us know.

Also Please give use your detailed installation and version numbers for OS, Opencpn and Plugin.
Thanks.

Re: OS Raspberry specific RPI

Hi Rick,

I'am using several OS's on a PI4 with the master plugins on both 5.7.1 and 5.7.1 Flatpak. But in the plugins I don't see the plugins you mentioned.

Regards,

Bram

Re: OS Raspberry specific RPI

Bram, thanks for your report. Bdbcat has just merged testplugin_pi v1.0.225.1 into the Beta Catalog. He has created what we think are the builds necessary for RPI and other OS. Can you double check your Beta Catalog and don't forget to "Update the Catalog" after setting it to "Beta"

You probably know this, but for others, to see the Beta Catalog in PIM "Settings" you first have to edit your opencpn.conf adding under
[PlugIns}
catalogexpert=1

Please report back, both what works and what doesn't, OS, Opencpn installation and version, etc.

We are trying to verify every build on this plugin alone. Then we can distribute with some assurance!
