Password for Option menu??

A question: Would it be usefull to have an option to lock the option menu with a password. This to prevent somebody messing around in your carefully prepared settings.
I know a few users where this would be usefull, but have no idea how it would be for others.

PS I'm talking here about the program options, not the chart viewing options.

Re: Password for Option menu??

In my opinion no, but it would be nice if OpenCPN could save settings using something like the chart template feature. Then if someone messed up their setting they could restore to a known good set or the installation defaults.

Of course, you can do this yourself by simple saving a backup copy of opencpn.conf or opencpn.ini. You can also do the same for the routes and such.

Re: Password for Option menu??

Dave,

Great. I thought templates saved the layout only. Sorry for the confusion.
