Re: Plugin: DashBoard

Please guide me if this is in the wrong place -- this is my first post here.

I'm looking at the dashboard in Open CPN v3.2.2 on XP Pro and comparing that to the instructions in the help file "help_en_US.html#DashboardPlugin" -- the version including 3.2.2.

1) The help file describes a setting for "Instrument Width. Exactly what it says...". I can't find Instrument Width anywhere in the dashboard preferences dialog.

2) Am I correct in assuming that the units displayed, time zone, and so forth cannot be changed by the user?

Thanks

Can't you simply resize the dashboard window? To be honest I don't remember how it was in 3.2.2, but definitely works like this in 3.3

You are right, in 3.2.2 the units are not configurable. It was implemented in 3.3 beta.

Re: Plugin: DashBoard

No need to wait - 3.3.1303 was released a couple of days ago. Although a beta from what I can tell it's more stable than 3.2.2...

Re: Plugin: DashBoard

Hi. I have made som changes to the dashboard plug in so you could use it to show barometric pressure provided through the mda sentence. For now i only read the Bar fields (3,4) and convert it to hecto pascal. Dial and simple instrument is working. Barometric history may come later on.
The code is located at https://github.com/stedy6/OpenCPN.
Could somebody advise me how to deliver a proper patch that could be accepted by OpenCpn?

Rebase on current master - Git - Rebasing
Make sure it does not break anything
(Optionally) If it's a mess of commits, make it one/more that make sense - Squashing commits in a git feature branch into a single commit in master | deepHill Communications

Re: Plugin: DashBoard

Can the dashboard be modified to display depth in feet?
I've seen this request on this thread, but didn't see a resolution.

Thanks,
Matt

My Dashboard_pi Ver 1.2 built from the current Git Beta 3.3.1303 has not any depth unit options. I can see the calculations for each of the three units but no options for the static box "Units, Ranges, Formats". Which Dashboard version are you referring to?

Hakan...
Good catch, looks like I forgot to actually commit the depth settings.

Thanks

Re: Plugin: DashBoard

Hi Pavel,
So did you ever post an update to the dashboard plugin so us archaic Americans can see feet?
I wish we went to the metric system 100 years ago. I can translate, but it makes my brain overheat when anything else is going on....
Thanks,
Matt
