Re: Plugin: DashBoard

Sure, so do I before submitting; yes, it is a CI issue as I said. However, this PR is not yours and/or not relevant to this issue https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/p...442c086e6ed714 ? If so, sorry about the confusion.

Re: Plugin: DashBoard

TDan, The 1433.2 trusty version only ran for 24 seconds and could not download some files for some reason. Can you restart it, perhaps that will give it a "kick" to complete with a green check? I have done that on occasion and it works. I believe you have access to that control, but we don't.

Having a green check mark will make it much more likely to be accepted by bdbcat as a PR (you probably know this.)

I have made a patch in this branch of my repo:
https://github.com/transmitterdan/Op...ee/EC_time_fix

The route follower (aka Auto Pilot) should use GPS time for its RMC message. I tested on Windows and it works. Please test on other platforms as possible.

An installer is here: https://ci.appveyor.com/api/buildjob...bf5f_setup.exe

Rick, I cannot restart a CI build. But it is possible to close the PR and then submit again. That will kick off a new build. I'll try that.

Best regards,

I have tested a solution for this. The PR has been submitted to git.

Re: Plugin: DashBoard

Petri has been working in the background improving dashboard-tactics and has implemented SignalK input streaming here:

https://github.com/canne/dashboard_tactics_pi

https://canne.github.io/dashboard_tactics_pi/docs/signalk/SignalKInputStreamerUsage.html

Which many users will be interested in because it includes engine information.

Most recent version is available here:

Re: Plugin: DashBoard

Hello,

I did a lot of research on signalK and I read that this system could be deployed on Windows.

However, I have not found anything on how to proceed ...

Could someone tell me how to install signalK on win10 ?

Hi Rick,

I had already read the links, but I'm not sure that answers my question ...

Indeed, all the examples that I have read use a rasperry and / or openplotter.
In the example pages, I saw a screen shot (see illustration below) that shows a SignalK soft or a SignaK webpage.

My question - which is perhaps stupid - is whether such an app exists under win10.
Twocan is basically for the Nmea2000 (which I do not have) and that does not solve my question.

Just did it, bit of a run around. On my system I have WSL2 running, windows system for linux.
Quite a lot of info here > https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...l/wsl2-install

Then installed Ubuntu from the windows app store.
Then in the ubuntu terminal followed to install instructions for signalk raspberry Pi from here - https://github.com/SignalK/signalk-s...nstallation.md
and running 'signalk-server --sample-nmea0183-data' got it up and running, available back in windows chrome with the address

Re: Plugin: DashBoard

Schnapsy, sorry, to be honest I have not explored signalK with Windows myself, so I find these posts of yours and others very informative.

There has been an ongoing debate about signalk. Some believe there is a better mux/hardware solution which avoids signalk, however I know Sean's pypilot does use an efficient subset of signalk on rpi. SignalK's flexibility and opensorce aspects are appealing, however sometimes it looks like an answer looking for a problem, and I can never quite understand why I really need signalK.
Perhaps I am being thick about this, but I wish someone could illuminate this a bit.

Depends what you want to do suppose, if you want o do anything with sensors or data then it just makes everything so easy. Writing to a database is so informative, no way could you recognize trends in pressure or wind speed or whatever just looking at numbers, if the data is going into signalk then it's easy.

Accurate barometer chip costs a beer or less.

Also, dashboards so anyone onboard can keep an eye on any of the data on a phone or tablet without having to get out of your bunk Send data to the web for monitoring when away from the boat, speak external devices like various victron, fusion etc.

What nmea data do you have on your boat?

Re: Plugin: DashBoard

OK, it is another translation/language that makes Nmea 2000 accessible and opensource so that better tools can be used to analyze and display the data?

That and more, multiplexes all the data nmea2k, 0183, any sensors, any internal diagnostics like cpu temperature etc, basically any number can have it's own separate individual key and be sent out over wifi or to the web, or to a database, dashboard, converted into something else like apparent wind to true, with node-red built it's hard to think of anything you might want to do but couldn't.

Thank you very much !

With signalK installed, I will now try to draw new screens and adapt my nmea0183 sentences ...

One last question, if I may ...

Is it possible to feed signalK directly via a txt file (like VDR files) in order to make simulations ?

N.B.: it works too with FireFox...
