Re: Plugin Distribution

At the risk of being redundant. The Opencpn Development Manual has been augmented
Different Plugin API Versions | Official OpenCPN Homepage

Quote:
Plugin (pi) API Versions and OpenCPN Version Compatibility

pi18 (1.8) = OpenCPN 3.0 [Use oldest supported Opencpn 3.2.2]
pi19 (1.9) = OpenCPN 3.2 [Use oldest supported Opencpn 3.2.2]
pi19 (1.9) = OpenCPN 3.2.2 [Oldest supported version]
pi110 (1.10) = OpenCPN 3.3.x (under design and development now).
pi110 (1.10) = OpenCPN 3.4
In plugin filenames there generally be will be a designation as above (it is part of the plugin filename format).
It tells which API version it needs and, if it was built against the right codebase with which version it should run - Startup of Opencpn leaves messages in the opencpn.log regarding the status of each plugin. If the plugin is not installed because the current Opencpn version does not support it, the piXXX designation will help you decipher what the problem is and what can be done.

These files can be found
opencpnplugins - Browse /windows_opencpn_development_libraries at SourceForge.net

Re: Plugin Distribution

Anyone have the rtl-sdr AIS plugin installed? I tried installing it and have run into a little problem.

Let me start at the beginning.

First I installed rtl-sdr. This works fine. I have good reception on the NOAA weather broadcast.

Second I have aisdecoder installed and running. I have made a connection between the two using the following commands.

rtl_fm -f 161966899 -g 40 -s 48k -r 48k /tmp/aisdata

./aisdecoder/build/aisdecoder -h 127.0.0.1 -p 10110 -a file -c mono -d -l -f /tmp/aisdata

tmp/aisdata is a fifo

This all works but requires a lot of fiddling to fine tune the frequency.

When I found the rtl-sdr plugin I thought wow I have a simple solution but when I fire it up, I keep getting the following error:

execvp(aisdecoder, -h, 127.0.0.1, -p, 10110, -a, file, -c, mono, -d, -f, /dev/stdin) failed with error 2!

Any suggestions?
