PlugIns: Fleet Code and GRIB

I found these two plugins that I have not seen mentioned elsewhere, or on the opencpn.org site, so wanted to make people aware of them.

One is to view the Fleet Codes from the Met Office in Fiji for the SW Pacific.

The other is a modification to the GRIB viewer to include some additional information displayed (if available), like swell period and direction.

Might be useful for others, and might be good to link on the opencpn.org site.

If people already know about them, sorry to re-post.

Re: PlugIns: Fleet Code and GRIB

The IACFleet works fine with O 3.1.1224 (W7 32 bits) using the fleet.nadi data $
I regretted at the time and still regret that the author did not extend it to the Atlantic fleet.wuv data

$ Possibly the H and L symbols may be missing

PS Now Physplot is bugged on that file !
But shows the H and L symbols

The gribmuc plugin works for me in the latest beta, although I don't know what the colors mean. ??
Serge, please check you don't have 2 grib plugins in the plugin folder, e.g grib_pi.dll and gribmuc_pi.dll.

Re: PlugIns: Fleet Code and GRIB

I only use stable releases as I am out cruising, and both work with 3.0.2 (W7 64bit) no issues. I can have both GRIB plug-ins installed, and enabled, and can use either one. It's a bit confusing since the icon in the toolbar is the same for both, but it does work fine.

The Fleet Code also works OK with 3.0.2.

Zoef, as far as colors, what do you mean? The overall shading of the GRIB? This is the rainfall, darker, more, you can see as you move your mouse over the darker areas and note the values in the GRIB window.

I have tried again, it is OK
but it is confusing to have 2 identical icons, I am not convinced, therefore
I will go back to my initial configuration.

I would contact the author on his website, perhaps he will make the source available for someone to compile. Not sure the author is here on CF or not.

Agreed about the icons, but I think the author's idea was to replace the standard plug-in with his (just disable the one called v1.4) and you will only have a single Grib icon on your toolbar.

Having swell period, direction, and rainfall available makes it worth it to me, and probably many others.
