Problem with charts database build

I have been using OpenCPN for several years now on windows systems with a set of chart files which I never had problems with.
I am in the process of trying to run OpenCPN on a Raspberry Pi.
Installed the program and checked that basically it is running.
Copied chart files to a directory in my home directory
Added the directory to the charts list
Tried to do a database rebuild and it seems that nothing happens - The pop up window comes up, shows the name of the first file to be processed, hangs there for several seconds with no change of timers, progress bar etc. and then closes.

I though it was a problem with the RPI so did the same on a laptop that has Ubuntu installed on it - same result.

Any idea what could be wrong?

Re: Problem with charts database build

Thanks.
Forgot about the log file and your remark reminded me of it - looked at it and found it and found the problem.
Seems that I installed a partial update directory instead of a full directory and it was missing the dictionary file.
Uploaded the correct map directory and now everything is ok.
Soon will take the RPI to the boat and see how I can interface the GPS and the AIS
