Problems with OpenCPN 4.2.0 on (K)ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Hello Everybody,

I am new in this forum ... and maybe do not use it correctly the first time ... I apologize for that.

I used the search but did not find any answer. So I wonder if there are Linux users that are using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with OpenCPN reading this forum.

I have two machines running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. One is a 32Bit machine using the Unity-Desktop. The other one is a 64Bit (K)ubuntu machine using KDE as a desktop environment. On both I used to use OpenCPN 4.0.0 without any problems in the past.

Today I tried to update to 4.2.0 using the PPA's without success.

Both machines complain of missing libwxbase3.0-0, libwxbase3.0-0, libwxbase3.0-0. Ubutuntu itself only seems to support these packages up to version 2.8.x.

Now the really bad thing for me is, that the update procedure told me that it is necessary to uninstall the older OpenCPN. I agreed to that and now OpenCPN is gone at all.

For the 32bit machine I found a Debian package of version 4.0 which helped me to install it but I did not find one for the 64bit version.

Does anybody know
- either where to get a package of OpenCPN 4.0.0 for Ubuntu 64 bit
- or how to get version 4.2.0 working?

The PPA should be fixed now, just update your system and you should be able to instal 4.2 normally.
