Problems with OpenGL and Radar_Pi 5.1.4 on Win 10 - Ocpn 5.2.4

Hello
I have a problem on my "old" laptop with Win10 and OCPN 5.2.4 when I have OpenGL enabeled.

System runs nice without OpenGL enabeled, but my Simrad 4G radad thru the RadarPi 5.1.4 is only working for a short while before the whole OCPN lags and slows down and in the end frezes.

Seems like I have an old Intel Graphic card in the laptop - i7 -5600CPU

I have tried to search the forum for similar cases, i see that there has been several on the 6xxxx cards, but i cant find any solutions that has helped.

It had the same behaviour prior to upgrading to 5.2.4, but not as bad as it is now.

Any advice would be appriciated.

Some older versions of Windows 10 did not function with OpenGL in combination with the Intel 5000 video controllers. Did you update Windows last year?

Have you updated the Intel Graphics driver to the latest version? See Intel:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...10-DCH-Drivers or use the Intel driver update tool.

Hello Douwe,

this is the message I am getting when trying to install the Intel driver directly, the Lenovo driver is up to date.

"A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver & Support Assistant is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact Lenovo for the latest driver for your computer."

That possibly older Lenovo driver could be the problem. Manually installing the appropriate Intel driver might solve it, or could make the system inaccessible if no screen is available anymore. In that case starting in save mode might give the possibility to reverse to the old situation, some risk in that.

Hi Douwe,

I am not able to force it to install, I am just getting the message to use the Lenovo driver.
