Raspberry 4 and openplotter

I followed all the instructions. Made the image. Put it on a sd card. But it won’t load on my new pi 4. Screen says the software is too old. Any ideas please

Try downloading the large file (1.3GB), unzipping and putting that on your SD card.

I've used it several times.

Openplotter is kind of broken in between releases. Old stable one doesn’t load on recent raspberry pi models. New one is still marked as ‘alpha’ quality test version.

You can try this instead of openplotter

https://bareboat-necessities.github....reboat-os.html

It’s a stable release.

Those are just test versions. Not a ready to use release

Re: Raspberry 4 and openplotter

OpenPlotter between versions is not broken at all. We have survived every major Debian update since 2014 but this time Raspberry OS has changed the firmware without warning and some models have been affected.

You won't have that problem with OpenPlotter 3, in this thread you can follow the development: https://forum.openmarine.net/showthread.php?tid=3878

It takes more time because this time we want to have a documentation that we are proud of and not the opposite, there are 32bit and 64bit versions and it is based on the new Debian Bullseye.

You will be able to convert these alpha images into stable images by applying all future updates, but we recommend that you start from scratch once the stable images are released.
