Re: Raspberry Pi w/ OpenCPN

Can confirm what DickG says. Fresh in install of buster and you will get nowhere. Instructions in the manual are terrible and won't work at all. Eventually got it to work by clicking around here to download the .deb package:

https://code.launchpad.net/~opencpn/...ncpn/+packages

The link above is broken as well, and I imagine will break again so I won't bother searching for a direct link.

Good luck to anyone else who finds this thread.

Re: Raspberry Pi w/ OpenCPN

If you have pi4 you could just load
this one

https://github.com/bareboat-necessities/lysmarine_gen

a lot of known issues are solved.

There is plenty of documentation as well

Re: Raspberry Pi w/ OpenCPN

If you have the latest Eeprom version on your PI4. You can install Raspian=Bullseye direct for the internet.

Just press the Shift and then there is de option to install Raspain. Take the 64 bits version.

For OppenCPN with all the plugins install the flatpak version.

Install flatpak enviroment: sudo apt install flatpak. Then go to the site flabhub. Search for Opencpn.

Download. Then go in your system to de folder Downloads. There is the downloaded nstallation instruction.

then: sudo flatpak install (the installation instruction).
