Raymarin, NGX-1-USB and PC is it that simple?

After struggling with CoursemasterCM 85i for 11 years. Have fitted this from Raymaril in Moriva 39 steel motor sails from 1977 and it was successful. see the PDF.
Have a PC WIN 10 with own GPS, AIS and OpenCpn,
Considering buying Actisense NGX-1-USB.
I want to get them together and talk, have read about many possibilities that seem difficult for an 80-year-old to understand.
Came across Actisense the other day and it looks so simple it's almost too good to be true.

Is it that simple?

I set up an NGX-1-USB yesterday. I had slight problems as my PC was not online at the time but apart from that all went well and OpenCpn can work with it for basic stuff anyway. Some of the fields in the tactics plug-in did not work, perhaps I need to update it.
