Red blotches on ENC charts

I've screen printed an ENC chart and was wondering if someone could tell me what the red blotches are on the chart. It seems they only appear near lights.

Re: Red blotches on ENC charts

A sign that your OpenGL driver is not working properly.
Please post the relevant info from the logfile.

Not sure what is relevant. I tried uploading the files but they are too big.

If you can tell me what to search for or another way to upload the files, I'd be happy to get you the information.

Re: Red blotches on ENC charts

Wondering if maybe my graphics card in my Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 doesn't support some of the newer features of openGL?

I believe I have a Intel® 855GME.

Intel drivers are famous for being broken badly on all platforms.

You are looking for something like
Code:

10:37:43 CST: OpenGL-> Version reported:  2.1 Mesa 10.3.2

Re: Red blotches on ENC charts

I don't see any messages like that in opencpn.log. Is that the right file?

Yes, ~/opencpn.log is the right file.

Re: Red blotches on ENC charts

Your screenshot definitely looks like OpenGL was enabled when you've taken it...
Anyway, go to the Toolbox->Display->Advanced and try to switch OpenGL on to find out if the result is different/better/worse.
