Run problem after compilation

Hello,

First, I wish you all an Happy New Year !

I need to add a "close button" on the control panel of openCPN because I use it on a little screen and the cross on the corner of the window is really small and not practical.

So I donwloaded the source code, I compiled it well (no errors, no warnings) but when I run it I've got this error

Code:
Failed to initialize the user interface. OpenCPN cannot start. The necessary configuration files were not found. See the log file at /home/franck/opencpn.log for details.
I used to do this few month ago and I didn't have any problem.. I've yo got a clue ?

I use Ubuntu 12.04.03 32bits

Thanks,
Franck

Look for the log file and read the end for clues. Any further questions also post the log file here, the initial file would also help.

Franck...
Your problem is what the message says - the UI data files can't be found. You have two options:
The easy one
Code:
sudo make install
or the harder one, good if you want to debug deeper: copy the needed files into your build directory.

Re: Run problem after compilation

Thanks for your answer.

It works in terminal but I don't understand why I don't mangage to make it run from code::Blocks.

Anyway^^, If I want to compile it, it's to add a little feature for a tactile screen PC: a close button on the toolbar buttons. Do you think it would be possible to add it (maybe in option..) ?

Re: Run problem after compilation

What does CodeBlocks say? Or is it behaving differently when you run the binary in the build dir (as "./opencpn" , not just "opencpn", which would launch the one somewhere in your path, most likely /usr/bin)? When you run your locally built binary, the behaviour should be exactly the same as running it from CB.

Re: Run problem after compilation

well, that's the problem, if I do this :

Code:
cd ~/Documents/opencpn/build
./opencpn
it works.. but it doesn't un CB... but it compile well (0 errors, 0 warnings) ... It's the first time I have this issue..
