Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

We have already one Ub 13.10 64bit fingerprint , so it is not a general issue -

if the file does not execute, please check that the "executable" bit is set ->
right click properties (Have a look at the Q&A in the S-63_explained document perhaps).

Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

BTW it might be needed to issue a "chmod 755 f_pr_O" command for the Mac version also.

Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

This in case you copy the downloaded file on an USB-stick (or some device with a FAT32 file system) and from there on the target machine.

The files from the web-site have the executable flag set originally.

Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

Me too, I had to set the flag to executable on my Mac and I downloaded it directly on my HFS+ formatted boot drive, no fat kid sat on it

Not that hard to set the flag back to executable:

Terminal.app
Code:
chmod +x <space> drag the f_pr_O file on the terminal and press enter...
Is there any newsletter that will be sent if there are more developments? Or do I have to hit refresh every 5 minutes ;-)

Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

The problem is related to libstdc++.so.6 not the executable flag. I guess i have to install som 32 bit librarys to get it work.

As we don't offer ice cream that will disappear in 5 minutes we will work as since ever: when something is ready it will be announced here

And there is still some way down the road to go to have everything running.
As we all will have to pay for the charts, we want to be pretty sure about the plug-in before launching. No bananas ripening at the customer site...

Newsletter might become an option for registered users of S-63 UserPermits when operational.

Pure 64bit system? No multilib? It's actually good point - perhaps a 64bit version of the fingerprinter will be needed...

And arm versions for raspberry pi and the requested "exotics". Obviously the plugin has to be closed source but does the fingerprinting program or can we just compile it up ourselves?

The fingerprinting is "black" as well. Implies that we will have to see how to get the corresponding execs built. Hope the slope is not too steep.

First on our list is the Ubuntu 64bit-only issue, then comes New Year and then we shall see....

Btw.: if you have a "standard system", these fingerprints are as well very welcome!

Stedy,

the Linux-64bit version of the fingerprinter is on-line. Tested here on a Live-Ubuntu-64 (12.04 LTS).
Looking forward for your feedback.
