Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

Testing the Plug-in with S-64 sets - Win XP Pro

Load set 8a fine, charts ok, panning, zooming, different info levels
---> nice to have: some Progress indicator, was tented to go on when SENC suddenly showed more activity.

Load set 8b additionally,
charts GB....01 through .04 will show outlined
panning to and selecting a chart from the 8b set
SENC crashes at object 2140/nnnn in the three cases

(same game with the Bahamas chart from set 8c at object 2140/4nnn)

--> have to kill OpenCPN; OpenSenc will persist, has to be aborted from taskmanager, if not at restart of OpenCPN will complain about the running instance

--> how to de-install charts?

Instructions for testing on 32 bits Linux

Looking at Dave's instructins for alpha testers in this post: http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ml#post1440443

A few extra steps are necessary if you are using the official packages.
After installation of the plugin, Dave's point 3 b, execute these two commands.
Code:
$sudo cp /usr/local/lib/opencpn/libs63_pi.so /usr/lib/opencpn/
$sudo cp /usr/local/bin/OCPNsenc /usr/bin/
All the instructions should now work.

The reason for this is explained in my last post http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ml#post1440312

Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

Hello Dave, hello Hubert,

ASUS EeePC 1015H, 10', W 7 Starter edition.

I redid my setup as previously announced. I installed OpenCPN 322 then I installed OpenCPN 331,303 going to re-download the files opencpn.org .

I installed the CM93 .

I activated the plugin and grib dashboard . I replaced the grib grib 1.2 by 2.2 Jean Pierre sent me. Everything works correctly.

I installed the plugin S-63 using s63_pi_010_setupexe release. Like yesterday, the plugin is installed in OpenCPN 322. Like yesterday, I copied and pasted the folder from O322 to O331303 .

I activated the plugin S-63 without problem. All this part works correctly.

I used the test userpermit provided in your post # 59 . It was accepted without problem.

I did accept charts test 8 -8b as requested in your post # 59 . Without problem.

Then I clicked on the OpenCPN screen to center the screen on one of the charts displayed in red in the southwest of England.

I then clicked on the blue bar in the bar charts. A process chart analysis was then started .
But, after a moment, this process is blocked. After a long time , I stopped the process without problems and OpenCPN stopped automatically.

I raised OpenCPN, and tried again to restart the process of analyzing charts. Impossible because the software opencpnsen.exe had not stopped.

I had to stop the opencpnsencexe software by going to the task manager.

I was able to restart and try again OpenCPN analysis maps. Same problem. This process stops. Opencpnsenc.exe does not stop. Then taskmanager ......

I have seach an S-63 log file but ???? There is nothing . Is it normal ? Is it go out automatically by web connexion ?

Gilletarom.

Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

Hello Dave,

8-8b test does not work, I managed to remove charts from 8-8b and replace by charts 8-8a. But it did not work properly immediately. I have started twice. In addition, red borders charts 8-8b remained visible as the charts are no longer accessible.

Charts test 8-8a displays correctly. Zoom + and Zoom - works. I tried to show the areas of sector lights. This does not work (but it works with CM93)

B.R. Gilletarom.
So these are exactly the same errors I did observe under XP. Congruent.

Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

hello Dave, hello Hubert,

Test with 8-8c. It do not run correctly. same problem that with 8-8b. And it also impossible to restart O because OCPNsenc.exe is not shutdown. So manually shutdown by taskmanager.

Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

OpenCPN 3.3.1303 Windows 7 32 bit (VMware image on my Mac)

Plugin loads fine, after initializing I get a nice set of charts:

Seems quite legit and working!

Can't wait to be able to buy real S63 permits, and use may favorite ECDIS instead of dodgy MaxSea ....

Plugin on my Mac does not load:

Trying on Windows 7 64 bit now.. will post result

Re: S-63 plug-in for OpenCPN

BCN, Gilletarom....

OK, in the case where the eSENC creation stops on 2140, requiring task-manager shutdown of OCPNsenc:

I would like to see the last few log entries in opencpn.log file, please.

Especially a line that looks like this:

Code:
10:13:25 PM: "C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins\s63_pi\OCPNsenc.exe" -c -i "U:\S57S52\IHO S-64 [S-63 TDS v1.2]\8 Data Exchange Media\Test 8a\V01X01\ENC_ROOT\GB\GB301620\3\0\GB301620.000" -o "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\opencpn\S63SENC\GB301620.es57" -p GB3016202012123143F2240DC3702DFC43F2240DC3702DFC6055119AC9BFA7D3,0,,GB, -u 66B5CBFDF7E4139D5B6086C23130 -b 49500 -r "C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\s57data"
Thanks
