The error message about the DLLs did pop up installing the plug-in?
Never seen this...

And we installed under W10. Several machines.

Yes I installed the latest 1.4.3.42
No the message do not pop up during installation.
it pops up only when trying to create the userprint or trying
to check the userpermit. More precisely , it pop up only the first time in a cession, then the second and following times I get only the "ERROR: s63_pi could not execute OCPNsenc utility" message

My current situation: I found on the net two versions of the .dll 64b and 32b.
I tried the 32b (my system is 64b and my first try was 64b) ...
And it works. I was successful creating userprint, OK for the userpermit, I got a installpermit and installed the chart cell I have bought

Hello Hubert or whomever out there can help,

I don't seem to be able to download the s63 plugin for 4.2 on a Mac. Some of the other plugins are downloadable from navnux.org but not all.

Is there an alternative portal to download plugins?

The alternative portal for the s63 plugin is the o-charts site.

Still can't download the Climatology plugin.

Oops, not so soon.

It seems 4.2 on a Mac does not automatically upload the old 4.0 User and Install Permits, as it does on a PC.

So, fortunately these are still on the o-charts account website. Just a matter of finding the correct Install Permit!

I am worried by this display of S63 shown in the screen shot attached.
I can't see any sounding but instead these curious repeated signs.
I have recently made a weekly update and the cell is FR200010
My system is W10 64

That's the "quality of data" indicator.
You can switch that off.

Continuing to test I discovered that at start I have never soundings and I must change the setting (GL -> No GL or No GL -> GL) to get soundings

first test:
- starting in GL mode : no soundings
- switching to No-GL mode : soundings appear
- switching again to GL mode : soundings are still here
second test:
- starting in No-GL mode : no soundings
- switching to GL mode : soundings appear
- switching again to No-GL mode : soundings are still here

Another problem
When opening O with S63, chart are not displayed. I have to click one time somewhere to get the display.

Seems to be a "refresh" problem

Same on linux with test data,

It looks like the plugging is still using an old and buggy copy of Font.cpp (freeing uninitialized value, deleting random texture and so on).

The font is an issue but after a second look it's s52plib lazy init (LoadS57 function) the culprit, if it's not done before calling SetAndApplyColorScheme raster symbols aren't loaded.

Workarounds :
- cycle color schemes
- set show menu

• What are all those 'U' things all over my chart?

The feature being rendered is S57 Text relating to 'M_QUAL'.
This is a meta-object describing the quality of data shown. The Attribute of interest is CATZOC, or "Category of Zone of Confidence". The value on most US ENC's is "6", or "un-assessed". Thus, the 'U'.
You can turn this symbol off in OpenCPN by de-selecting the box next to M_QUAL in 'Tool Box' / 'Vector Charts' tab 'Mariners Standard' selection list box.
Unticking the box "Meta Objects" also hides the "U" symbols.
To learn the acronyms used in this application search the S57 'Object and Attribute' catalog at: IHO S-57 / ENC - Object and Attribute Catalogue

Also, when viewing ENC charts:
1. "U's" show up all over the charts
2. Text detail seems to be missing ..like bouy identification ..Bridge names and clearances etc...
3. Depth sounding seem to disappear zooming in and out.
