S63 hangs when adding charts or charts are not visible

Hello


I have installed the S63 plug-in and downloaded charts from ChartWorld.
I started with 3 small maps.
That went fine.

I then downloaded the entire are.
When i Come to "Import charts/Updates" and press "Apply"
It hangs at the "OpenCPN Chart Add...." window.


I run Win7, have updated to the latest 4.8.6 and S63 v.1.8.
I have tried to re-download the chart file from Chartworld.


I have attached an opencpn.zip renamed to opencpn.zip.doc.
Opencon.zip contains a screen shot, ini-file and 2 log files.


Any one has any idea what to do.

Which chart sets you are trying to import?


There is an issue with Navionics Charts in S-63 format from Chartworld:
some newer ones are composed by several thousand tiny cells. Importing can take hours or even days.
We have seen one set with 12.500 single cells.
Even once imported these micro cells, working with them is v-e-r-y slow.


Is this your case?

Hello


This chart is the west Baltic Sea, German Part. The number is: 1I01011.

It makes approx. 485 cell name lines and 485 files in s63\s63charts\49. It takes some 10 minutes and cpu and disk activity stops.
