Showing customized NMEA sentences in OC

Hi,

is it possible to show customized NMEA sentences in OC´s dashbord?

I think about a home made tank level indicator witch sends NMEA sentences through the network to oc and then shown there.

@bcn: Yes it´s possible to make XDR-sentences.

Meantime I read in the manual that the dashboard can use XDR-sentences.
So this can be one possibility.

In the OC-manual stand under NMEA sentences and the xdr chapter this:

Example:
$IIXDR,C,19.52,C,TempAir*19
$IIXDR,P,1.02481,B,Barometer*29

Is it possible to use more than one transducer of one type e.g. two TempAir? Can I name the transducers as I want or must the Temperature Transducer (C) called TempAir ?

XDR is a construct to allow proprietary sensors in a 0183 (IEC 61162) network. Several sensors in the same sentence are allowed.
The description of the structure should be available in some site.

XDR – Transducer measurements
Measurement data from transducers that measure physical quantities such as temperature, force, pressure, frequency, angular or linear displacement, etc. Data from a variable number of transducers measuring the same or different quantities can be mixed in the same sentence. This sentence is designed for use by integrated systems as well as transducers that may be connected in a "chain" where each transducer receives the sentence as an input and adds on its own data fields before retransmitting the sentence.

@bcn: Hubert, sorry wrote your nick wrong. Corrected it

The NMEA-sentences itself are not the prob.
To show them in OC seems to be a little tricky.

Some more information:

I want to build a tank level transducer with a special ultrasonic sensor and a wemos d1 mini. This combo broadcasts the tank level via WiFi into the network and oc can recive this as a network connection.
The wemos is like an Arduino (programmable) and so I can send everything I want via the network.

My thougt now was to use NMEA sentences and show them in OC with the dashbord.

What I didn´t find out yet is if it´s possible to show in the Dashboard a line like "Fueltank: x Liters" ore a gauge or so witch is called as the source.

And what is if I have more than one of theese transducers (watertank, fueltank, wastewater…)

Hi,

found the plugin EngineDashboard. There are the needed instruments to show customized xdr nmea sentences like I need.

The other way seems to use the signalk and the dashboard tactics plugin.
