Speed & Next Tide events in Route Manager

Two questions.

First, I've set up a route I plan to take. In the setup, I've indicated my planed speed is 5kts. The various legs are showing different speeds ranging from 3 to 6 knots. Is this using current estimates to show impact of current on speed over ground?

Second - there is a tab marked Next Tide Event. What is required to have this populated?

No, it must have been set for each WP, see below

Each, or first/last, WP need a designated tide station.

Open properties for a WP in your list. One way is to click a row in your Route properties. Right click and select "Waypoint properties.." In the dialog select tab "Extended" and scroll down. (You can resize the window if needed) Select a tide station for that WP, or at least the first and last WP for the route.
Change planned speed if needed or wipe it out to let the general "Plan speed" control it.
