We are getting closer and someone will advise when it is working.

I just found, installed and tried this version:
https://cloudsmith.io/~opencpn/repos...ball/v1.3.8.2/

And now sQuiddio is in French., Thank dave.

Good!

That said, I discover simultaneously that there are many texts that will remain in English. For them to appear in French, it would first be necessary to list them, introduce all these items in the language file and have the translators translate them!

See some examples of items that could be translated, in the attached screenshots. but it requires quite a lot of work and .... patience!

This will be the work of Mauro.

Re: squiddio plugin

Gilletarom, I don't know where that version came from I just pushed v1.3.8.1 and deployed to squiddio-prod as Dave asked. I believe that Mauro is also working on it.

I am going to hold off here or this is going to be too confusing.

I hope Mauro has all the commits, including Dave's two commits.

Will email him.

Gilletarom, I tested squiddio, weatherrouting 13.14, weatherfax and watchdo and they all speak french.

Don't know what happend to your program, can you try it again?

Re: squiddio plugin

I have recently updated the manual for the squiddio plugin with a couple of new features that have just been added with release 1.3. These include:

- NDBC buoy reports available as POIs on the chart. See wind, waves and pressure info for thousands of buoys (mostly US but some international) right in your chart

- one click download and install of Google maps for all the squiddio POIs (marinas, anchorages etc. )

If you have not upgraded to squiddio_pi v. 1.3.x.x, give it a try sometime and perhaps report back your impressions!

@Gilletarom

you are correct: those snippets in English are responses from the back end. Unfortunately, as of the current version of the plugin, the browser language is not one of the parameters sent with the request, so the backend has no way of responding in the correct language. Sounds like a good feature request for future versions of the plugin.
I may ping you again at that point for the French translation of those sentences...
Thanks for your work in updating the translation

Re: squiddio plugin

Is there something going on with Squiddio? I can't download any POI's on either of my Macs. When updating POIs or downloading images, the downloading dialog box appears, waits for 20 seconds, and goes away with no results. Squiddio 1.3.8.3 on O5.2 on Mac OS X Catalina.

Re: squiddio plugin

Steve have you had it working before? Could it be an Internet problem? It's been working for win, with that version. We are in the process of updating squiddiio. Try most recent version on cloudsmith opencpn-squiddio-prod with import plugin

Installed. Still not downloading images. I'm going to take my laptop somewhere away from the boat and see if I get a different result.

Re: squiddio plugin

Thank you. It is working again, although I didn't do anything. So I think there was a problem with the squiddio-server.

I was not able to install the new version on opencpn for buster 5.2.0:
Importing worked, but nothing to install or activate afterwards.
So I still use squiddio 1.3.8.3 out of the managed plugins of opencpn.

Harry thank you for trying, but this is not an adequate description of your process for me to identify any problem. I would need a step by step description of what you have done.

I actually think it probably works but you have not followed through on the process from

"Import Plugin" ---> success message,

"Install" ---> success,

"Enable" ---> apply.

or given us any idea where the problem is. I am going to try with a Virtualbox Bionic install.
