I am developing a Tack Advisor script for the JavaScript plugin.

With the script running, if you have an active waypoint, are sailing on the wind and need to tack to reach the waypoint, the script displays the two legs needed, assuming the opposite tack will be at the same angle to the wind. It also displays a table showing the distances and times to reach the waypoint.

This approach is very basic compared to the sophisticated Tactics plugin and, at least at this stage, makes no corrections for cross currents and has no knowledge of polars.

Antipole is laid up ashore and will not be in commission for some time, especially given Covid-19 restrictions and my need to shelter. The script has been developed using a built-in simulation mode.

I am looking for one or two volunteer collaborators who are active on the water and willing to test this out and give me feedback. If you are interested, please private message me. Thanks.
