Re: Tactics Plugin

Thomas, Layline is looking pretty good to me, using Sample1.txt Whoops that is just the tacking points. I need a wpt.

Would like to have the Tactics Windows location and extents be "remembered" after we close Tactics. Currently they are not.
Not essential, but would be nice.

Re: Tactics Plugin

Update: My Tactics_pi settings Menu locations and size were remembered after closing Opencpn and then reopening. As I recall, I had left Tactics_pi Menus open when I closed the program. I do not know if the position and locations are persistant when I close the plugin then close Opencpn. Will test.

Yes the Menus position and extent are remmembered when you close Tactics, close O and then reopen O then reopen Tactics_pi.

Also the SVG icon works well. Next will test with a Tactics waypoint.

Re: Tactics Plugin

At first I was having trouble getting "Target VMG" and "Polarspeed" working because the polar Aki950routage.pol was perhaps corrupted so I loaded the original version and its been working now.

Here are some results using sample1.txt nmea data file and Aki950routage.pol with laylines turned on and a Tactics Wpt set to weather.

These are looking pretty good to me now. Now I need to get my instruments calibrated and hooked up to my PC and get some data from our boat to work with.

Very nice plugin Thomas. You've been working on this for quite awhile and it shows.

A question for later, is how to integrate the Dashboard with this great plugin? Or is it even necessary? Perhaps at some point in the future, they can be melded.

At some point, it would be very nice to have a few different 'skins' for the style of the instruments, but this is so much better than what was available.

New version available.
--> Graphics bug fixed when drawing laylines from boat to mark, in case one of the intersections is outside the visible area.

Re: Tactics Plugin

Hi Thomas
It seems to work well. That is great

I have notice one problem.

The color of the lines to reach the waypoint are on some angles incorrect (see screen shot)

Good job

Re: Tactics Plugin

HI Thomas

It seems that there is a problem in the initialisation of the computation.

When I Open O and launch the VDR there is no display of the current and the layline is incomplete. if I create a tcktick waypoint the computation of the lines is incorrect.

If I go to to "preferences " and change leeway option click ok then it is ok. If I change again leeway option it is ok.

A another sceanrio.
I play your sample 1 VDR, with ok behavour.
I switch to an other VDR (mine)

Then the wind remains stuck to the last value of your VDR and do not move anymore and all is eroneous.

Hope it helps to debug.

All my best
Cumulus

Re: Tactics Plugin

Lepinard,

I can reproduce with your vdr, I'll look into it.
It has something to do with your missing sensors.

Let's see...

Lepinard,
I am not the expert language guy. Hakan knows the process very well and also Pavel. Pavel set up the crowd sourced languages,

It's easiest to get the plugin finished first so no menu items change significantly.
Then someone needs to make a PotFiles.in file, either Hakan or Tom_BigSpeedy.
Then you would edit that file for French and turn it into a french.po file.

Pavel wrote some time ago:

I have evaluated a couple of ways to improve the situation over the past weeks and ended up creating a project on Crowdin (Many thanks to these guys for generously supporting open source projects) to maintain the localizations. From now on all that you need to help us keep the translations up to date is a web browser and a bit of time.

Please join us by signing up at https://crowdin.net/project/opencpn/invite
The process is sort of described here for Opencpn (not plugins)

Please note :
I changed the rev number of the pdf, it corresponds now with the version number of the plugin (both is 0.4 now). Makes it easier, I think.

Re: Tactics Plugin

Thomas, Hakan is able to get languages internationalization going when you are ready and have it up on git. No pressure here.

Re: Tactics Plugin

Hi guys, I've just installed this plugin, on a test Netbook. I have a bit of an issue so far in that it is only displaying one layline. I think this is likely to be an issue in the setup, but I can only see the top part of the Tactics Preferences window, as the window is longer than the available display space, and there is no slide bar to move to the bottom;

What have I missed?

Matt,
latest version has a slider in the Tactics preferences.

Not really as I'd like to have it, but working for the moment. Creating/managing these dialogues boxes manually in wxWidgets is a nighmare ... "wxSpinCtrlDouble" is buggy as hell. I had to left align all input fields to display them correctly, except one, which rejected to work at all. Finally I lost my patience and replace it with a text control ...
Anyway ...

I can't help you with the one layline problem without a VDR sample file (and your opencpn.ini
