I just tried and and it compiles and builds and even run otherwise nicely but there is one typo in an #ifdef you need to fix like this. Remove or put in a safe place the DashT build, make a new build-dir and run cmake again in it.

Many thanks for these precious indications !

By "simply" changing the ON to OFF (as explained) and applying the 2 patches, the original dashboard is displayed as I wanted !

I only have now to learn C ++ to customize it even more, but that's another story...

Just a rearrange:
Replacing the original dashbord_pi.dll with the one I got from your advice, I get an other new icon in the menu bar.
This green icon (indicated by a red arrow on the attached image) has the same behavior as that of the dashbaord and also bears the same name (Tableau de bord, in French) ...

It does not seem to interfere with the operation, but I report it anyway.

@rgleason - posting here after replying on the watchdog thread. I have tested install and basic functioning of the Tactics plugin on MacOSX 10.14.6 (Mojave), with OpenCPN 5.0.1+0266678.

I can confirm that it installs successfully, I could enable the plugin, and I selected the pre-built "tactic", selected "show this tactics", and it displays correctly on the main chart. I walked through most of the preference settings and "change things".

I have no practical knowledge or experience with any of the pieces the plugin enables - I am not a sail boater and not familiar with most of the aspects of this plugin.

sygibson, thank you. That is a start for beta testing and it looks positive. That's very helpful. I will try to do the same for watchdog, however others have said that is does have some macOS compile glitches. We will see.


I wish nereus would test Tactics for macOS, but he does not seem to be online these days.

Hi Rick,

sorry for the departure. I've been getting settled in the new boat and have been trying to get Nereus sold. Note the handle change.

I just d/l tactics from your repository and it installed just fine. I'm running it on my laptop. On the ships Mac, I have Canne's last version of Dashboard Tactics running. I've activated a Tactics waypoint and they both seem to be the same. It'll be a few days before I can get out on the water and give it a try.

I realized that changing polar in tactics (tactics_pi-1.0.12-ov50-win32) makes OpenCPN to crash ...
Went back to 1.0008 (the official from OpenCPN site)

Sorry, Juancho38, but we need more information about the conditions which cause the crash, we need to know that it is repeatable, and we may need some log files, if we are going to be able to fix this.

Great, does it crash immediately when you have selected a new existing polar, and tried to enter it?

Have you tried other polar files? IE could it be caused by a single badly formatted polar file?
- BTW Sean in weather-routing tried to make provision for loading differently formatted polars, but I don't know if tactics has this.
