Thank you, OpenCPN developers

I recently converted from OpenCPN 5.0 to 5.6.0.. As you may know, I had some thouble doing that, due entirely to my seriously below average computer skills. While I was struggling, I looked at other navigation software, particularly "free" software, on the internet. It doesn't really exist - "free" means "free trial," and we'll charge your butt every month after that.

I also found that 5.6.0 has new (to me) features that I relly like, particularly scrolling my mouse to get larger scale charts (Carrabelle River, my home) rather than having to select them in turn.

So, THANK YOU all you volunteers who developed, and continue to develop, this software. You've made a wonderful contribution to cruising in a boat.

Re: Thank you, OpenCPN developers

I have to agree wholeheartedly with the previous posts. What the collection of volunteers has achieved with OpenCPN, and continues to improve upon, is nothing less than incredible. This open source programme is, to quote that well known ad, ‘priceless’. If an iThingOS version is eventually published, I truly believe my beloved iNavX will be relegated to backup-but-seldom-used status.

Thanks to all of you for your generous efforts.
