too many charts bar

I do not know how I did it but I have like 50 charts IN MY Chart bar at the bottom of open cpn. How do I get rid of then and only have 3 or 4 pleas

Go into Options-Charts-Chart Groups.
Create different groups containing subsets of your charts.


Right click in the main window , select Chart Groups and the group you want to see.

(See the Help file on Chart Groups - it should be in .../OpenCPN/doc/charts/chart_groups_tab.html)

The chart bar reflects the charts in sight on the canvas. Why and how is the crowded bar a functional issue for you?


As proposed: chart groups is a tool.
With heavily tiled sets like the one from NOAA for the Great Lakes, zoom in. We shall see much more of that style in the future.

Please also check your Options->Display->Advanced->"Chart Zoom/Scale weighting"
For most vector chart the level would be "0". If for example "5" the chart bar will be crowded and poor performance.
