Trouble Updating to V5

I am trying to install 5 on my new, used computer. I just had everything loaded onto the "new to me" computer from my old computer. The install of 5 doesn't work because the path is still listed to drive F which is a hold over from my old computer. So I tried to advanced install and selected the new location on my new C drive where 4.0 is located, but it won't install. I am asked to uninstall 4.0. I want to maintain all the links to the charts I have so I don't want to uninstall 4.0. How should I go about updating to 5?

The new used computer is an i5 generation 4 and the old computer is an i7 first generation, Windows 7 OS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You can try running the installer from the command line and use the /D switch. Documentation for the installer says this:

[QOUTE]
/D=C:\Bla or /D=C:\Path with spaces

Set installation folder ($INSTDIR)

Must be the last parameter on the command line and must not contain quotes even if the path contains blank spaces.

Re: Trouble Updating to V5

Another option:
make a copy of your existing "opencpn.ini" file in the ..programDatra\OpenCPN dir.
uninstall ver4 and make a fresh install of OpenCPN5
Open the new (fresh) ini file in an editor and copy back the chartfile dir info lines
