True wind angle not showing

Hello,


I use the latest version of OpenCPN ( 5.8.4) with windows 10. Don't know If I am doing something incorrect but on the dashboard showing the wind angles and speeds , the true wind angle does not appear , only the apparent one. The true wind direction is correctly computed and displayed together with its speed so there should be no reason why the true wind angle could not be also since it is a simple subtraction from the true heading. Has anyone here encountered this phenomenon ?

I remember version 5.6.2 displayed both angles without any problem.

It works for me on W10

If you don't receive true wind angle, with respect to bow, from any instrument, NMEA0183, MEA2000 or Signal K, Dashboard tries to calculate it using apparent wind data and the boat's course and speed, COG and SOG, if available.


To calculate true wind direction, with respect to north, from apparent wind a true heading needs to be present.

In fact I suspect a faulty configuration in the choice of my NMEA 0183 sentences . This can be what has changed from my part since version 5.6.2
