Ubuntu Impish Opencpn 5.6.1 Repository won't load

I attempted to get the S63 plugin working and found that when the repository is loaded using the recommended commands:
sudo apt-get install software-properties-common

sudo add-apt-repository ppaencpn/opencpn

sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install opencpn

Ubuntu produces the error:

Err:10 Index of /opencpn/opencpn/ubuntu impish Release
404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.95.85 80]

and



E: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/opencpn/opencpn/ubuntu impish Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.

The PPA is apparently not "signed" for impish, thus no upgrades or
plugins.

Any ideas on how to get around this?

We do not have an OpenCPN Release for Impish. We support official LTS Releases of Ubuntu only. The most current OCPN official release supports "Focal". The next official LTS for Ubuntu is "Jammy", due in April, 2022.



In the interim, you may like to try the Flatpak version of OpenCPN.

Thanks very much for this info. I suspected as much. I'll see if I can figure out the FlatpaK configuration.
