Unable to add charts to Anderoid OpenCPN

I have installed OpenCPN 5.6.2 [99] from Google Play on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5.
I can’t install the user manual. A red text in Google Play says that it was created for an older version of Anderoid.


I have copied CM93_2015 chart files from a PC to the pad SD card. When trying to import the charts into OpenCPN I can’t even see the folders on the CDcard. There are generic ? folders for Charts and … but not the real folders that actually are on the CD card. See enclosed screen dump.

What do I need to do to accces the SD card files?

On current versions of Android applications are not allowed to access any storage except their own assigned location with fixed path in both internal storage and the SD card.
You can see that path in the top part of your screenshot and you must copy your charts under that location.
