I get the error message from OpenCPN Info

PlugIn oesenc_pi, version 4.2 was detected.
This version is known to be unstable and will not be loaded.
Pleae update this PlugIn using the PlugIn manager master catalog.

You might want to try to purge the cache of downloaded plug-ins and after that to try to install the actual version of oeSENC again



If there is still some active version of the oeSENC plug-in, uninstall it from Options|Plug-ins first.



The cache you will find at your local disk, most probably C:
C:\ProgramData\opencpn\plug-ins\cache\tarballs
Same with metadata at...\cache\metadata


After that, refresh the Plug-in master catalog and install the oeSENC plug-in again.

I am running Openplotter with OpenCPN on a Raspberry pi.

I have updated OpenCPN from 5.0 to 5.6 and I get a message that oesenc_pi version 4 is detected and that I should updated this via the Plugin Manager master catalog.

Having searched around it seems I need the newer O-charts plugin and am trying to follow the instructions.

I open OpenCPN, go to Options>Plugins, I updated the Plugin Catalog but I do not see the O-charts plugin in the list so I can't select it.

I'd very much appreciate it if someone were able to help me solve this.

PS I can't uninstall the old oesenc_pi plugin either as that doesn't appear in the list under Plugins.

First, be sure you have latest OpenCPN. Then, disable old oe-senc plugin! Then enable the O-CHARTS plugin. It IS in your plugin list.

I am using OpenCPN 5.6.0

I can't disable the old plugin as I mention above and I can confirm that the new o-charts one is definitely not in the list, it really is not.

I'm using OCPN 5.8.4 windows 11 (updated to latest) x64 & ARM64.

it's not a big deal but it seems too many objects in settings / o-charts.

I have untick the "show expired charts"
I have also charts from same area purchased in 2022 and renewed in 2023, in this tab I see the old 2022, the renewed 2023 and also the valid license for another installation (W11 ARM64) in 2022 until September 2023, so I guess from September I'll see four instances in all my three computers 2 for expired version 2022 and two for renewed version of 2023.
same is displayed in all three computers.
same screen-shot in all computer, display before "check update charts" and after connected to server.

my question is, could I delete old version from the list in the o-charts tab?
because renewing yearly I could have an infinity list of expired (in same area) and active.

also yesterday I tried to update the o-charts plugin in the boat (Win11 ARM64 OCPN 5.8.4) and after downloaded it gives me checksum error.

when come back home I did in my another two installation and I had no problem with version 2.0.0.64 the computers are one Win11x64 and tablet Win11ARM64.

I'll try tomorrow again in the boat and will you if something strange happened with the checksum error again.

Yesterday I come in panic.

after update o-chart plugin everything was fine, so I switched off my tablet and later I started it again, when I got these two marvellous screens, attached about o-charts.

of course unable to load the charts and just looking everywhere because I could not believe it, if you tell me that is a PC, I could understand that some hardware upgrade could be done but in a Tablet?

I decided to re-start the tablet and everything come back to normal and I was able to lad the charts.

now, what was the reason of such messages and not able to load charts?

done the update in boat's computer and now no checksum error, done properly.

This is a Windows tablet? If it happens another time then create a system fingerprint manually and send it to o-charts. We can then try to uderstand what has changed on that system on that moment.

Since I Installed in my boat the latest Watchdog plugin I have a problem with o-Charts update.

Windows 11 Pro ARM64 ver 22H2 22621.2215
OCPN 5.8.4-0+1637c28
o-chart plugin 2.0.0.64
Watchdog plugin 2.4.70.0

If I have active the mini window of Watchdog plugin when click on "Update chart List" button the windows remains as attached with no more progress, and when click on any part of the screen it just beeps but nothing else.

as far as I see OCPN is working in the background but can't do anything else.

if Watchdog mini window is closed the check of update process charts is done properly.

I've seen in latest update from o-charts because installed in new computer that Spain has been split in several areas, in my case before I had Spain whole country and now, I was only able to purchase my area (Atlantic).

I think that should be matter of Hydrographic office fees, not going to complain about it, I could understand.

but the main reason is that I still have active until September the whole Spain in two computer and only has been updated:
España 2023 Ver 2024/1-1 valid till 2024-09-02 St installed and updated.

while the Spanish Atlantic charts area is updated to 2024/1-19.

why such difference and why not receiving updates till the end of purchase period?
