Have tried to initiate the Oesenc plugin. And set the plugin to on. Sometimes after an update (oesenc plugin ?) you have to do this again.

Reorganize the charts database and I think the RPI is working (better) then before.

Re: USB key dongle for oeSENC

And are you sure that the charts are still on your system? What does the chart directory show?
Rebuild chart data base?

And what does the log file say?

Bram...

the oeSENC plug-in is active: observe the oeSENC tab.

The dongle is recognized too and shows up as the active system on the screen shot.

Re: USB key dongle for oeSENC

I did and redid the entire installation procedure of both the dongle and the cards, but nothing ... The dongle is recognized, the cards are in the right folder, the mysteries of electronics ... I will try again in the day. Meanwhile, thanks and good wind to all!

I'm not a computer technician. If you tell me what to do about the log file I'll show you.

Re: USB key dongle for oeSENC

Sure:
use the "about" or "help" button, the"?" from the tool bar.
It tells you where to find the log and the configuration file.

If you want to publish the log here as an attachment change the extension for example to opencpn.log.doc to overcome size limits.

You can copy it into your comment as well. In this case using a end of code [/code] and start of code bracket [code] helps to see the text without covering some characters in Smilies...
"Start code" first, then the text from the log pasted and finally the "end of code" characters.
This looks then here like this:
Code:
some text

Ok, thank you all. I reinstalled the o-chart plug-in, and now it works. Good wind!

The extraneous debug line: "after initlock" is confusing the dongle detection, for sure.
Not sure why the server does not work for older licensed charts. Will take a look.

The fact that it prints "after initlock" is very good, though. I see light in the tunnel. No segfault in libusb. Now we need to get you a dongle.

Dave
Dave,

I received my dongles now, and indeed it works with the binary you compiled for me:
Code:
[ralph@heisenberg ~]$ oeaserverd -s
after initlock
1
[ralph@heisenberg ~]$ oeaserverd -t
after initlock
1898228
So, would it make sense now to run OpenCPN with a version without the extraneous output?

Regards, Ralph

Re: USB key dongle for oeSENC

Question about the USB dongle:
Does it not work on ARM64 since the oeserverd-binary for that platform has not been updated for USB-key support?

Re: USB key dongle for oeSENC

Dave,

sorry for bugging you, I'm just not sure if you noticed my last post - since the oeserverd version you compiled for me recognizes the dongle, I do need a version now without the debug output that confuses OpenCPN ...

Regards, Ralph

I'm really sorry to hear that.

Apart from being closed source I find the USB dongle one of the most userfriendly options available.
This means I'll have to check how to get 32-bit OpenCPN working on my system lacking any good alternatives.
