User Interface Chart Object Size Problem V5.0 Windows 10

Hi there, I'm new to this group needing some help please.

I have been using V4.8.6 with Australian Vector charts for about 18 months on a Windows 10 Dell Inspiron 7570. Happily navigating and tracking about 4,500nm so far.

I recently tried to upgrade to V5.0 but found the chart objects sizes had changed and and I was not able to adjust them in the User Interface Settings. In particular, the depth/soundings numbers are very big (about font pt 18) and navigation markers are so tiny almost impossible to see. Adjusting the Chart Object Scale Factor only changes those chart objects that I have created - i.e. waypoints, markers, tracks and routes. Not those that are embedded in the charts, they stay the same size.
The Scaled Graphic Interface box is checked. The same settings work fine on 4.8.6 and had no problem adjusting them.

I've searched around in the settings, the online manuals and this forum to no avail. Also asked the Facebook OpenCPN User Group but no-one there able to help.

I have reinstalled V4.8.6 as our working system for now, while I try and sort this out.

So, two questions for now.

1. Have I missed something in settings?

And before I start with V5 again....

2. Can I install V5 and run in parallel with V4.8.6 accessing the same charts and current user data (tracks, routes, waypoints)?

2. OpenCPN V5 can be run in parallel with previous versions.

and will re-use your settings on all parallel installs.
The different versions are running with the same configuration file, tracks, routes etc...

As I pointed out on the 5.1.511 beta thread, changes to chart object size on oeSENC charts don't take effect until Ocpn is re-started. It's the same on 5.0.0. but I hadn't noticed before.

My screenshot shows the same area on oeSENC and CM93-2. The right hand CM93 panel is correct for the current setting.

Note to the OP: Have you tried re-starting O5.0.0 to see whether your changes have taken effect?

Not just a reminder - it's the same on 5.0.0 and could explain the OP's problem! Please note my screenshot above is with 5.0.0+9065270

Hello and thank you for all your responses.
I wasn't aware of the need to restart V5.0 before changes would take effect, so I will need to try that however I haven't reinstalled V5 yet. Perhaps I should wait for V5.1?
Here are some screen shots I took previously in V5 of two settings on the Chart Objects size slider, showing that the depth and nav symbols size don't change, but the track and 'Mooring' mark that I created do.

Hoolie's problem (restart required to show scale changes in oeSENC) is fixed in code, will appear for real in next Beta.
