I have read the treads that you linked. As I can see, you encourages me to do something that I find way over my head. (I only have limited experience in coding c+).
As I am an hardcore windows user, I find the Linux terminology frightening! What I have done with the files in the Enlarged_Depths is somewhat light modifications Anyhow, the experience with this, has tickled my curiosity, so who knows.

I wouldn't worry about it being over your head. A fresh eye and interest in helping to improve the program is always good.
