version 5.6 will not install

Hi, I have tried several times to download and install version 5.6. I had a system crash and lost my old open cpn. now, when I click on install I get a notice to say that it can not open the library and then I must select retry, abort or skip file. Nothing works and am left unable to install open cpn.
Sorry, the msg is "could not open file for writing"

To start with: What is your operating system?

I am running on a laptop Windows 10, latest updates installed. Also running avast anti virus free. I never had problems installing previous versions

Good news. Problem resolved. I went into "my downloads! and saw several downloads for the programme. Clicked on the most recent, and got a warning box, telling me that the link had been prevented as it could be dangerous to my system. Was given the choice of continuing or aborting, chose continue, then was led through to the installation which has completed This was not offered when trying to download and install from your site as I said earlier. Possibly a glitch?

This warning is completely standard when installing under Windows.

BUT what I was saying was, that when I tried to install it from your download site, I got no warning, and the installation was terminated. Only when I went to my "downloads" folder, and clicked on the downloaded programme did I get the warning and was able to initiate the installation. Never mind, all sorted. Thank you.

Example Download with Firefox: "Install or Save?" --> save; show in directory --> right click "open" --> W10 warning pops-up
